I believe the rule of 3 only applies to combat values on the dial, so healing would not be affected by it and Starro just destroys all that come before him.

He's really hard to beat because he can heal every turn for free.
I KO'd him in two turns with everything I had.
If you wait to fight, you'll always loose to it.
I only thought it might apply because the starrophytes modify a die roll, and I couldn't think of any other case where a die roll could be modified more than three.
Until this second, theme team map roll bonus.
OK.
Anyway, Starro is killer! And yes, I put this in the wrong forum.
yeah to further derail this thread in the wrong place, I played a game against my daughter, she had 900 points of Monsters I had 600 Starro and the slaves. She mopped up the slaves no problem but then Starro started taking names....
if you read this then you lost 10 seconds you'll never get back.
I played 1000 pt Starro in a 2000 point game. I played all Rulers, and made sure they were Evil Rulers at that. My opponent just happened to pick a similar theme-- Cosmic-- and all evil to boot. The winner would sruch the universe under their heel, or in this case, tentacle.
I had a similar situation. Apocylpse and Starro were still fresh, but the rest of my team took a beating. But there was seemingly no way to beat Starro without focusing 100% on him.
Well since there are so many Starro players here myabe you can answer this question that has perplexed me.
The Starrophytes are supposed to take up space and create blocking squares like a character but do they affect other characters like normal IE making them have to break away and unable to shoot out of combat or do they ignore the Starrophyte like it was a rock or blocking terrain IE NOT like a character. The Starro rules are kinda contradictory.
