I read Civil War (and most, if not all, of the tie-ins). I read World War Hulk (and most, if not all, of the tie-ins). But I haven't seen anything about Skrulls and yet there's talk of them all over this forum. What's the deal with Skrulls and Marvel? Did I miss something? Or is it just from some upcoming book? The only Skrulls I've seen were in Annihilation (and that was mostly Super Skrull being a bad ###).
In New Avengers the gang went up against the Hand being run by Elektra. Once defeated (read killed), Elektra turned into a Skrull. Wolvie couldn't tell she was a Skrull so effectively anyone in the Marvel Universe could be a Skrull. I can't wait for them to point and make an other-worldly scream when they see a non-Skrull.
They are the lucky ones it would seem given the events in Anniliation.
It's a great plot devise to leave hanging out there though. They can pretty much write anything they don't like right out of continuity by saying the person who did it was a Skrull. Didn't like Civil War? Don't worry that Iron Man was a Skrull! Upset that Cap died? It's cool Steve had been replaced by a Skrull years ago.
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.
There's a new storyline coming up called Secret Invasion. The main idea of it is that there have been Skrulls disguised as Marvel Universe characters and they've been hidden for who knows how long. It was recently discovered in New Avengers that Elektra (who was leading the Hand at the time) was a Skrull. No one knows exactly when the switch was made and she could have been a Skrull for years.
Rumors and suspicion abound as members of the New Avengers don't know who to trust with this info. Infighting occurs and Spider-Woman defects from the team to give the corpse of the Elektra Skrull to Iron Man.
More problems revealed themselves in New Avengers: Illuminati when it was revealed that Black Bolt of the Inhumans was a Skrull and it looks like he might have been a Skrull since the end of the old Kree/Skrull War. Plus when he was revealed, he called for backup in the form of more "War Skrulls" with the powers/look of Thor as well as the X-Men (most notably Colossus). They were destroyed by Iron Man but what were they doing? Did they already take places in those various teams?
It was also revealed that the Initiative is compromised and a high ranking member of the Initiative is a Skrull (don't know who yet) and their plan is to have at least one Skrull if not more in every team in the Initiative (and some are already in place).
Rumors say that there is DEFINITELY a Skrull in the pages of Ms. Marvel and most likely New and Mighty Avengers as well. Plus one of the X-Men is supposed to be a Skrull also. Rumors of who might be a Skrull range from just about every single New Avenger to most currently high ranking members of SHIELD. Several Mighty Avengers (most notably Wonder Man) are very suspect that this moment too.

So here I go adding to Kaitouace's sig again, but he hit the nail on the head. FOOM is very playable.
basically every time something happens and people don;t like its outcome or development of a character then can scream "ha ha fooled you it was a skrull"
also if wolverine can't detect them ... maybe HE IS A SKRULL!
quit calling web tokens objects dammit, they cannot be carried and have no "unique game effect" they are nothing more then sculpted "Special" cardboard squares
It's pretty easy to see who the Skrulls are, if you think about it.
Here's some handy spoilers of upcoming revelations in the comics. Beware, they are spoilers!

Professor X is a Skrull. You can tell because whenever he has been drawn into a panel lately, the artist sneakily gave him green skin, pointed ears and a ridged jawline.

Captain America's killer is revealed to be Crossbones. However, the rifle he used was actually a Skrull in disguise. When this is revealed, everyone will realize that you can't die from being shot by an alien shape-shifter, and Cap will spring out of the North Atlantic, good as new!

X-23 is actually a female clone of Wolverine. So, kind of like Wolverine, only less hairy and with breasts. Does it sound like a cheap marketing strategy?

The bomb that destroyed the planet Sakaar was planted in the Earth shuttle by Hulk's wacky insect sidekick Miek! He was going for a "tin can filled with springy snakes" type prank, but misjudged how much plutonium to use. His confusion over matters of atomic weapons engineering is explained by the fact that he is a Skrull.

Skrull engineering schools are just diploma mills, and most of their curricula completely ignore Earthling nuclear armament construction.

Iron Man isn't a Skrull, he really is just a regular human jackass.

Noah Bennett isn't really dead! But he does have a splitting headache and recurring acid reflux.

Xorn is really Magneto, but not the Magneto you're thinking of. He's an alternate universe Magneto from universe #617, which is just like #616, only they didn't have to live through that terrible Morrison run.

"Dell Rusk" is actually the Red Skull, who is also a Skrull! The giveaway clue here was that his name was an anagram for "Ed Skrull" - his real name!

The killer of the New Gods is the universe-crossing, resurrected Cameron Hodge from the pages of X-Factor. Why is he doing it? Because he's a jerk.

Id liek to see some villians turn out to be Skrulls. We have had loads of bad guys return from the dead and it not be logical. The Skrulls just want to infiltrate our world. So along wiht heroes theyd suit up as villians and even civillians. The X Men enountered a Skrull world where al the Skrulls were being trained to take the place of humans. Supers and regs. It was devoured by Galactsu so I think it might have been in the past or something, i dont rightly remember. But if they have one planet where they train sleepers why not more?
The selfish infect us all with sad, vulgar, sexual references and a constant barage of innapropriate innuendo. A pity to be subjected to this against our wills, but to allow it into our lives with open arms shames us all
Ok my buddy josh's cousin is a writer at marvel so here is what I heard rumor wise.
Sentrys wife skrull
Black Widow---Skrull c'mon she didnt know Shield Chain of Command during the Ultron scare.
Emma Frost Skrull or a Kree dunno yet. She has died and come back so...
Dr Stranges butler guy Wong I think his name is, is a Skrull
There was a list of more but this is what I remember off of the top of my head. If I can get a hold of Josh I will post more.
BTW There will be Skree as well as Skrull infiltraitors for this new universe wide story line. Also every comic will have at least a skrull, kree, or both revealed in it.
Take this with a grain of salt but my source is good and with the explanations he gave it makes sense.
I wonder why the Kree would want to get involved, considering all the troubles they have at the moment.
I'm still trying to remember when the Supermor returned to Kree space, last I saw of him, he was still held as a prisoner on the earth's moon. Yet, there he was in Annilhation, suspended animation and all, till Ronan offed him, off-panel.
