Here's a question about stealth that came up at our venue this weekend. Is a character possessing stealth but standing in clear terrain invisible to a character standing in hindering and drawing a line of sight through hindering terrain?
Example:
Character S possesses the stealth power and is standing in clear terrain.
Character R is in hindering and is trying to range attack Character S.
C's are clear terrain
H's are hindering
S
C
C
H
H
R
Is Character S invisible to Character R? Or can Character R range attack Character S?

To answer this for others that might have the same question, in your diagram the answer is yes. You would not count the hindering terrain that figure R is standing in against him, but the other 2 squares of hindering in front of him would make figure S invisible.

Which is why so many people call this game "counter-intuitive".
"Hey, I'm in the bushes, you're in the open, and you're hidden??!!???"
Thanks for the reply.

i got another question, if a player is in stealth in hindering do they half to drop stealth to shoot out?
No. Stealth only effects line of fire drawn to the character (not from the character).
Note, however, that you will need to turn off Stealth if you want to Perplex any of the character's values before the attack or if you want to be able to use Probability Control on the roll. (Both of these require LoF to the character.)

I would disagree with that being counter-intuitive... if someone is a really good at hiding and you're trying to see them over a long row of hedges, the hiding person can still hide behind the leaves, even if the leaves are closer to you than the hider.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

And just to nit-pick a tad, invisibility is usually expressed by stealth as well. Why they have to have hindering terrain to begin with is beyond my imagination, but invisible girl doesn't need a desk to become invisible.

There has to be balance...its not comic accurate sure... but i like it balance over complete accuracy..

There's also the fact that most "invisible" powers still leave a minor aura (or whatever you want to call it) where you can see the edge of them where the light bends around/through them (like melted glass). If you look carefully, you can see them in open area, but it's almost impossible to see them when they are behind a bush where the light is more skewed.

Oh, give me an effin' break. A guy with stealth in the open is hidden. A guy without stealth in the bushes is able to be seen. That's not counter-intuitive????
"Or what if it's foggy? Or nighttime? If an invisible tree falls in the forest, does its 'slightly visible aura' make a sound?"
STOP!!! YER KILLIN' ME HERE!!!!
