I was just wondering if anyone can tell me where I can find the offical rulings on conversions in tournament play?

You see this is my problem:

A tournament is coming up where I play where you get points for play, concept, theme of your team, a quiz and conversion of your team. Well I did create my team by creating the Reign of Superman, conversions of each one and even making the team with 4 flying figures from the DC and Marvel sets equaling 300 pts. Per the rules on the website. I run into AvengerJoe who is judging the tournament and show him my team. He percedes to tell me that since I change the figure on the bases I used I can not use them for this tournament. Mind you only the figures were changed and not the combat dial in any way.
The Team:
Eradicator=Firelord base with superman figure repaint
Superboy=Steel base with boaster gold repaint
Steel=Steel base with steel figure
Cyborg=Dr. Strange base with superman figure repaint
Please if anyone out can tell me that I'm wrong I won't play this team, but I remember reading somewhere that as long as you don't change the dial they are legal.
I believe that you are correct in that as long as the base (top and dial) are unmodified, that the figure is legal.
But I can't find the rule in writing
sorry

Hey Tsannik,
Why that upcoming ruling?
Does it apply to repaints too?
What if my figure's missing an arm?
What if I bend Vulture's wings down some?
As you can tell, I don't think I'm gonna like this new ruling

your right it is the judges ruling but the tournament is somewhat based on conversions. The judge told me that changing the figure would confuse other players but if the stats and the base have not been changed how is it confusing.

Thanks for looking
well he said you could convert the original figure for the base to look like another figure. for example converting juggernaut to look like colosuss, jean grey to look like dark phoenix, hulk painted to look like grey hulk. But no where was this put into the rules on the wizkids site for the tournament.
Don't you wish there were a knob on the TV to turn up the intelligence? There's one marked 'Brightness', but it doesn't work.
