I was on the fence with Booster Gold, Green Lantern and Blue Beetle but after this weeks issue of Blue Beetle (#25), I have to go with Blue Beetle. Being able to introduce a new character and have him fit in and expand upon decades of Blue Beetle history makes this title accessible to new readers as well as old ones like me. And yes, Guy Gardner's entrance to the fight with "That's right, baby girl. I'm the Crazy One" is now my favorite line of all time!
I JUST read that issue 10 minutes ago, and it was phenomenal! I loved the JLI reunion.

As a huge, long-time fan of both Teen Titans and Robin, I feel almost ashamed my answer doesn't rest there.
Best ongoing DC series is Booster Gold.
Best DC series (overall, counting current minis running) is Salvation Run.
I could rattle off a bunch of others I enjoy as close running mates, but depending on whether the current series requested has to be ongoing or not, there are my final answers.
PopularCollections takes your $ and delays shipping for months! They are called PC for a reason; everyone who rolls with them ends up wanting a re-do
In your signature line even!!! Geoff Johns is one of my favorite writers of all time. He even has the sense of humor to poke fun at the few ideas that come from his mind that suck!
It's one of the things that sold me on the series.
"When the going gets weird, the weird go pro." - Hunter S. Thompson"
"Victim? Victim? Do you think this letter on my chest stands for AMERICA?" - you have been getting insulted by nextwave.
I would have to say Blue Bettle. Its Marvels Spider-Man but with a DC spin. I love the evolution of the character since he appeared. The writer really Jaime to the past wearer of the name. It has some of the best supporting cast of any book.
Now the war of lights begins...... A black Lantern will rise.... Who will it be? Find out in Green Lantern 2009
"...that Kryptonian boy's tantrums, which I still find ridiculous to believe. Punching history. Please." - Rip Hunter speaks the truth in Booster Gold #1

As this is a Geoff Johns love thread I'm going to leap to his defense here; the whole Superboy-Prime-punching-holes-in-reality thing, that was not Geoff Johns. It came from Infinite Crisis: Secret Files, which he didn't write.
He gets the blame for it all the time though (as people tend to get it mixed in with Infinite Crisis itself) so I guess that is why he takes the mick out of it at every available opportunity...
Ok, after read a masterpiece book today I see that everybody here is WRONG.
the Best DC Current book is:
Tiny Titans!!!
Hum, a book with no angst, no blood, no sex, no multi-part stories, and no Continunity concerns. You're right! This is the best DC book!
"It is said that civilized man seeks out good and intelligent company so that through learned discourse he may rise above the savage and closer to God. Personally, however, I like to start the day with a total di**head to remind me I'm best."
I been thinking on this for days since the subject started and my pick is....
JONAH HEX
I never really liked westerns but the Showcase volume I picked up on a whim when Borders had one of those buy so many get one free deals and I decided to get the first Showcase phonebooks in one buy got me hooked on the character. I tried the current series and was won over with the one and done. It is refreshing with so many 6 part stories running in just about every other book.
I do admit though DETECTIVE COMICS could have been my choice too along the same lines as Jonah Hex. I don't mind the interuptions here and there with fill in arcs but crossovers with other bat books hurt it for me since I don't buy Robin, Nightwing, etc.
BIRDS OF PREY would be my pick for a title telling more expansive stories. I had my reservations after Canary left followed by Simone but right now you got lots of interesting characters coming in and out of stories and that has been refreshing since other than Huntress and Manhunter I haven't really followed any of the other Birds hanging around now. The more revolving character focus right now is helping continue my 70 or so issue run when I thought for sure I would be done with the title with issue 108 or so.
It's stories are ridiculously awesome and hardcore. I remember in one issue where he was being hanged from a tree upside down after a night of drinking; he puked, snatched and broke the neck of a nearby vulture with his teeth, then used its beak to break through the ropes.
It's a great book as well because it doesn't have to follow any type of continuity with the other parts of the DC universe; allowing it to take off into any direction. The writing is also very concentrated with a certain depth to each character that he comes across. These single shot stories are like poems from Charles Bukowski: a quick punch in the face.
Suffice to say, I leave his book at the bottom of the pile of my DC stuff because I like to read my comics in one siting; its a nice way to leave the DC universe and into Marvel or Indie.
Thank you for voting for Barack Skrullbama. Embrace Change. He loves you.
