i wont trade with people that has terrible typing skills... they give me suspicions of lojo.. so, i always trade with people that has excellent typing skills.
I been ripped... Once on here and once on YuGiOh realms. On here it was for like $70-$80 in stuff so it hurt quite a bit. The trade on YuGiOh realms was for like $5 in stuff. I tried telling the guy too. It's five dollars in stuff, why bother? Anyway, now I trust nobody.
So I guess getting ripped is my biggest online trading fear.
What's happened to me twice is someone says they never got my package/envelope, and I can't really do anything about it. The first time I was somewhat new, and didn't send with DC, so I gave the guy some stuff. Didn't lose too much though.
The envelope thing is tricky though, I hate sending them, no way of tracking.

Just get signature confirmation. The PO attaches a small green postcard to the envelope. When the mailman hands over the envelope, the person receiveing it signs the green postcard, the mailman tears off the signature part and mails the postcard back to you.
Boom. Signature proof that is was deliverd to someone.
3. i know trade wit u if u typ lik this
Yea, any trade offers not made in even the most basic of English are immediately refused. And I don't care about short sentences like "My Hulkbuster for your Emma Frost. LMK." but asinine requests like "hay I got SR Sorm an wans ur SR SF/NW an SR LOBO so les trad."
Also, I know I have to trade first because of my low rating, but I really, really, really dread getting ripped off. I mostly want to trade my high-priced stuff, and I'd lose a lot if someone decided to screw me on a trade for my E-2 Supes or my super-rares.

And you can get Rock or some other mod with high feedback to be the middle man. Just give them something for their troubles and they'll be glad to help...
I'd like to trade more, and I make sure that my trade list is up to date. However, I've run into the following obstacles:
1) Hard to attract attention
There are a lot of trade threads out there, so it's pretty unlikely that somebody will click on yours. And when I made a specific thread for LE Sentinel of the Skyways (which lots of people were posting about, and still has high prices on eBay) I got 54 views and only one reply.
I keep a link to my haves/wants in my signature, but unless somebody wants one of the two figures mentioned in my sig, they're unlikely to click on it.
2) International postage costs
This is fair enough - it's probably not worth somebody's time to pay postage from the U.S.A. to Australia for one or two LEs and uniques. That's why most of my trades have been within Australia, but there aren't as many traders here.
3) Matching Haves with Wants
I've got a decent collection, so there's a lot of figures I already have. I've gotten a few PMs from people who wants figures I'm offering, but can only offer me stuff that I already have, or a handful of CURs that I could get more cheaply off eBay.
I don't bother listing or trying to trade common stuff. I'll get almost every CUR from boosters sooner or later, and I give away my extras to friends (especially those who don't buy much clix).
I've actually had a lot of great trades on the Realms. However, some people now a days are just ignorant. The reason i am backing away is because most people only want chase figures and they are NOT willing to give something of equal value for them
