Still a playable character after all these years. Just get someone to use their 17-19 defend on him,and Thor will be your hard hitter...no doubt about it. Solid figure.
Insane damage output. 10 range, 6 clicks of base 5 damage, 6 clicks of minimum invulnerability damage reducers, 4 clicks of move and attack with 5 damage... his DV is terrible but correctable with a mere 37 point Invisible investment.
Wholly pushable, too. All around great figure that's blissfully straightforward.
Whenever I get super-ticked about how dominating Stealth is with it's virtual immunity to RS, RCE, Psychic Blast, Outwit, Perplex, PC, EE, Enhancement, Hydra, SHIELD, PD, Outsiders, etc. and it's virtual guarentee of first(and often second) attack. THIS is the shoulder I cry on. THIS is what figures like V AW Psylocke, JL Batman and most of all, NGN SupermanFEAR.
This is one of the two heroclix singles I ever bought for more than a few bucks; after the ultimates Marquee as the store owner was opening booster packs in search of uniques and I was on a Thor kick. I am glad I bought it.
While I agree his dmg output is high, his low defense kills him. That's pretty much why I never play him-as soon as Thor is out on the field, everyone guns for him right off the bat. As a result, he goes down fast without doing that much damage. Sorry, but despite everyone's praise of this figure, I just don't see what all the hype is about. 186 points of junk defense that makes him more of a liability than an asset.
Of course, this is all my opinion....

Not removing this until we get Clock King and The Rose-01/23/11
Come on, NECA-Marvel Horror Theme Set 2011!
This is still the Thor to beat. I was kind of hoping for something to rival this from the Thor set that was forthcoming...
Anyway, while there are some great pieces in the Supernova set, the Ultimates Thor remains the best of them all. He's inexpensive compared to most of the better SN versions, has that anti-stealth Ultimates ta, and has high damage and attack value on all but one click. His problem is his low defense: one click of impervious isn't enough and a 16 dv that only goes down from there is laughable. If Thor isn't properly cared for he's not going to last long. Some strategies to keep him robust include giving him fortitude so his pitiful defense can't be outwitted, also tking him in and out will help.
By ignoring many of his powers in favor of pure stats, the designer created a figure that's way TOO efficient and one of the best pounders in the game to this day. His only weakness is way low defense for his cost.
God is smarter than we are....

Laughably broken. A friend and I plugged his dial into a fairly accurate dial generator around the time Fantastic Forces came out and got something like 240 or 250 pts for him. This piece was the last refuge for people who lacked any and all real skill for the game. And The Ultimates suck.
...man, you might say, is nature dreaming... -Jeffers Floronic Man reigns supreme!
Clixathon SuperCap 12/3/11
I consider this an accurate depiction of Thor as far as damage. To be honest I think of him as Thor during his "Warrior Madness" time. Back in those comic book times, he was a match for almost anyone, as he didn't pull his strikes at all. I know this is suppose to be the Ultimates version, but I can imagine, can't I :D
Yeah, heinous stats, but as noted, a very weak defense. I think Shellhead would work well for him. When I had him I used him to neutralize all the stealth based teams, which is probably why everyone says that the fig is broken. He was pretty much made to take out stealth abuse teams. His two arrows, and long range, give him multiple opportunities to pick and choose who he wants to attack, and where he would want to put the most damage to. He's also not top heavy, in that he is dangerous all the way down his dial. Don't get how he is broken. When people were using Lockjaws with poison figs that had mastermind, I found that to be broken, as I couldn't do anything to stop it, with Thor or any other team for that matter.
I think Thor could actually defeat the new KC Supes, based on how I look at the stats. His damage potential would give him the first strike, and then it would take awhile to attack Thor, as he can attack from range, as noted. Then again the Defense numbers of Thor make it so that he really isn't going to be the support piece you want him to be for your team. I played against him several times, and he is very easy to deal with if you have the right team.
