Ok, I'm missing how Strange got upgraded.

The gap between R IC (64) and E IC (71) is 7 IXP (a 7 points gap.)(If I understand the rules correctly). So, on top of that, how does he jump from 64 points, to 87 points, by only spending 5 IXP? The way I see it, wouldn't he need 27 IXP to make the big of a jump?

Also, what's preventing you from jumping all the way to the 149 pt SI Vet, if it only costs 5 points to upgrade that far, as the end upgrades are apparently free?

I'm kinda using your upgrades as a bench mark for mine Wakanda, so sorry if I'm muddying things up :/

Strange and Hulk were already upgraded when I started using them. So when I started my squad, I used the highest unlocked versions rather than re-booting (especially since their cheapest versions didn't really do them justice).

Strange was already at his R FF which costs 82 pts. So he only needed 5 IXP to upgrade to the Vet IC which is 87. I already had access to the R IC and E IC when I started using him.

Likewise Hulk is already at his 82 pt LE from MM. So I can choose to use that or the R MM at 76 at the moment.

Check the team tracking thread. It already has all the currently unlocked versions listed. And at the bottom is a list of 'previously upgraded figures' who are available for recruitment, since they were already upgraded by other players.

Epilogue

Battling in the debris, the gigantic android unleashed a powerful haymaker on the Incredible Hulk, finally felling his opponent with a giant shockwave. Reverberations rock through the small cavern, as the Hulk slams into a far column shattering it. As Hulk slowly rises from the rubble, there is an eerie quiet throughout the complex. The Hulk looks around, as the sparking defense drone hovers, and the dented giant stand, almost perfectly still. Suddenly, a crack! The entire complex starts rumbling and shaking violently, as massive hunks of slate and granite fall from the ceiling down onto the floor. Hulk notices a particularly large chunk of rock falling towards 'Sword Girl'.

Leaping forward, the Hulk punches the huge mass, which fires like a rocket, obliterating the animated defense drone, hovering nearby. The giant android looks around, clearly not programmed for this occurrence, only a confused look on his metallic face as that half of the complex collapses on top of him.

As the majority of the ceiling falls toward them, the Incredible Hulk braces himself as he prepares to take the full load of the ceiling and the 6 story building behind it. The mass of rock and steel, a mere foot from the Hulk's outstretched arms, suddenly turn….blue? Looking around him, it appears that he and his friends had been encased in a shining blue bubble!

"Hulk….confused. Why roof not hit Hulk?"

"Ah, my dear green goliath, you have the Shield of the Seraphim to thank for that!" A ghostly voice whispered to the Hulk.

"Dumb Magician do this?"

"Yes, Hulk. I did. Now, let us get the rest of our friends, and see what we can salvage from what we discovered. Our friends need some care at this point." The enigmatic Dr. Strange said, his astral form hovering in the cerulean bubble he created. "I dare not attempt to maintain this shield much longer. With my magics….as they are, I dare not push them as I normally would." Strange made a motion with fingertips and the whole team vanished from the building and reappeared in the passenger area of Nighthawk's plane. While they recovered from their battle, Strange flew them back to his Sanctum Sanctorum.

"Well.....Nighthawk said rubbing his head, "that was certainly a bust." He looked around uncertainly at the others.

Dr. Strange stroked his goatee. "Maybe so, but the Earth needs Defenders now more than ever. The Great Cataclysm I sensed earlier is drawing ever nearer, and we must stand ready to stop it."

Bruce Banner just shrugged. "The Earth already has plenty of defenders though. What about the Avengers, and the X-men..."

Strange shook his head. "They will not be enough. I know we've had a difficult beginning, but we must hone our skills in preparation."

Valkyrie hefted her sword. "Then we must heed the call of destiny. We will defend this planet, regardless of the cost." Nighthawk and Hellcat smiled, Strange seemed pleased. Banner only shrugged and said; "Well, it's better than being on the run again at least."
