You know this kind of comment isn't really needed.
He probably has read the rules and either didn't quit understand or just didn't have his rule book with him and forgot.
There are plenty of reasons to ask what you might consider a rudimentary question in the RULES FORUM.
Who is the more foolish? The fool, or the fool who follows him?

For the record, I agree with everyone, but I also understand Papa smurfs point of view here
This isn't like a "go read the rules to see why you can't use flurry and EW" it's a very clearly stated part of theme teams, and for all we know he gets inundated with questions that would easily be solved by people just reading the damn rules (as I do every weekend)
So on the one hand, yes, we should encourage newbies to be open and learn the rules if there is a question they can't answer
But at the same time, we should encourage independence in this area as well, so they don't need the judge to hold their hands
Perhaps Papa Smurf was a touch harsh but I agree with the sentiment
Use the following chart (reproduced in various forms throughout this forum)
Max Points ... Minimum number of
In Build ... characters if Generic Keyword
1-100 ... 1
101-200 ... 2
201-300 ... 3
301-400 ... 4
+ 1-100 ... +1
Max Points ... Minimum number of
In Build ... characters if Non-Generic Keyword
1-150 ... 1
151-300 ... 2
301-450 ... 3
451-600 ... 4
+ 1-150 ... +1
Note that the minimum number of characters is based on the total build limit, not your actual build total *
REGARDLESS of generic or non-generic theming, you get one 'theme team probability control' for every 2 characters total on your force
For the hard of thinking, this means you get one for every two full characters. In other words, round down
So to sum up
All members of force must share ONE common keyword
If the keyword is generic you must have a minimum of one character per 100 points, or portion thereof, of allowed build total (there is non maximum)
If the keyword is non-generic you must have a minimum of one character per 150 points, or portion thereof, of allowed build total (there is no maximum)
You get one theme prob for every pair of characters
* So if the build total was 450, you would need 3 non-generic or 5 generic to have a themed team. You could not underbuild to 400, have 4 characters and get a generic theme
