If you want to field Sub-Mariner, this is the best of several decent choices. I rated the sculpt a 3, I think the sculpts starting with Secret Invasion started looking a bit cheaply made. For playing however, this Namor has proven pretty durable for me since this release.
This is a sickeningly good piece, he always has flurry, and good attack values. Bring Atlantis Rising with you and go to town. One of the Top 10 Pieces in SI.
My biggest problem with Namor is not Namor, it is the SI map that had NO water terrain at all! If you can't play him in water, it definitely takes away much of his utility, but I still love this figure even without the end dial regen. I am a big fan of Namor!
But...Nightcrawler really has been my favorite character for years.
Brutal! Full dial of Flurry, high AVs and damage over 3 is total nastyness!! Probably one of the most consistent dials in Heroclix, his numbers just don't drop, and keep peaking again and again! Definetely top 5 SI. IMPERIUS REX!
The definitive Namor dial. He makes the Defenders into a top-tier team (with four 18s on his dial he'll help keep his teammates strong!), and he's always deadly. With a generous helping of keywords, there's plenty of thematic teams that can really shine with his presence.
One of the best clicks in SI! He can hold out on his own and will make any opponent rethink their strategy when Namor is on the field. Lack of water will make him suffer once he gets on his last few clicks but this figure is worth his point value and will be a center piece in any team you build.
This figure is the definition of point efficiency. Pound for pound he is THE most lethal clix pc in the game. HSS pcs can finesse him into defeat if your not careful but they cannot match his durability and total dial value. He really has no bad click. Get him, play him, love him.
Charge/flurry combo with 4DaV and super strength up to is crazy. Heck, it’s even crazy without super strength but still with the 4DaV at the back. 6 clicks total of this, plus with flying mobility is crazier still. Add on 4 clicks of 18DV to share and it’s (you guessed it) crazy (even at 150 points). 9 Full clicks of flurry, never with a DaV below 3… what’s not to love? This figure’s only weak point is that he’s got no damage reducers and, out of water, no regeneration either at the tail end of his dial, but hello, he’s got 4DaV charging flurry there so I’m all for taking my enemies down with me at that point anyway.
At the same cost as the Fantastic Forces Vet Sub-Mariner, this Namor is so much better due to superior design. Simply fearsome for most of his clicks, and even on his soft ones he'll go out swinging hard. See my full review at http://www.pojo.com/heroclix/COTD/index.shtml

This guy is a tank, I have never lost a game with him in play. Charge with the flight ability, but he can still be carried because he does not possess the flight wing. Best game was when I threw "fortitude", "Auto Regen", and "Submerged" on him, put a fire hydrant where there was no water and he sat in stealth waiting for his opponents while Dr. Strange took range shots. Gamora fell in one action for 10 clicks, Batman took 4 and nightwing 4 more. Took a rest and blasted robin for 4 and KO'd Batman. After that I let the pogs finish the rest off. He is just to good not to push, his stats just keep getting better, got him to his regen click and bam free action to his third click where he still has flurry and 12 attack unbelievable. I am sure he will go down someday when I play him, not very soon though.
Very good representation of Namor's power. I do wish he was priced closer to 180 though. I don't like pieces like this, Hercules, starter Thing, Ms.Skrullvell, SI Iron Fist etc. that are just TOO GOOD for their point cost. They throw the whole balance of the game off. On the other hand so do overpriced pieces like Grey Gargoyle, Hulking, Iron Lad, Taskmaster, Ult Abomination (come to think of it A LOT of the Avengers set). Oh well, I guess they can't get it perfect, but sometimes it does seem that Wizkids just pulled the point costs out of their asses.
