Superman rocketed towards Karate Kid. It was a brutal punch, but even so, the Man of Steel held back at the last moment. As a result, Karate Kid would live, although he was far too badly wounded to continue fighting. Another of Braniac 5's failsafes activated, returning another wounded Legionnaire to the 31st Century.
After dispatching the last Legionnaire, Superman hovered before Batman.
In a castle in the Swiss Alps, Max Lord watched and laughed maniacally, anticipating the imminent end of the Dark Knight.

Good game. (Lois isn't going to be able to do any damage to Supes, even with a crit hit. For my part, I'm not going to have Supes try to KO Lois, even if he can get to her with HSS; to be honest, that's not something I want to write up or try to justify in a story post.) You've got a very strong team, and it was really Karate Kid missing Dr. Alchemy the first time that wrecked your chances.

Under Max's control, Superman swatted Batman with the back of his hand. Yet, the resistance of his subconscious mind caused the Man of Steel to hesitate for just a fraction of a second, and hold back his strength just an iota.
As a result, the blow sent Batman flying backwards, hard into the walls of Arkham--but not quite hard enough to kill. The Dark Knight stayed conscious just long enough to activate his JLA teleporter device. In a burst of light, Batman was whisked away to a safe location, where Alfred would have his hands full tending to his wounds.

I agree with you, that stupid kimono kid missing Alchemy was the true game breaker, although I think I wouldn't be able to scratch Superman, 'cause this time the dice Gods were asleep for me!
This was by far the stronger team I've ever faced in both Leagues and the hardest, impossible-to-do-anything game I've ever played!

I really could use that 5th KO for Superman, but I don't look forward to trying to come up with a reason why Superman (even while being mind controlled) would try to hit Lois, or writing about it. Also, having Supes attack Lois just seems like the sort of thing that invites retribution from the Dice Gods later.
