I so, *so* hate the Sentry as a bad Superman pastiche -- don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating DC over Marvel. I just think that each universe has its own language, and Marvel pooped all over Superman with the Sentry.
Worse, Marvel did it all over itself by shoehorning this cracked, ersatz Superman into their Silver Age continuity.
What made for an enjoyable, outside-of-continuity/alternate universe miniseries was turned into a bomb via Bendis' brutal insertion of him into mainstream Marvel history.

Rep to you!
Your solution would still make him available for Exiles and other dimension hopping stories.
But no, they had to further downgrade what passes for continuity today.
You know, I have recently stopped buying comics. With an exception for JSA, I am no longer purchasing products I loved since the early 60's!
I guess that's why most of my clix teams are either Silver Age or Golden Age figures (or customs!)

I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.

Bingo. The original miniseries was pretty close to brilliant, and had they left it at that, I would count myself as a big Sentry fan. But as is, they've way overused a cool character and, well, took the cool out.
I wish that I could loan the original miniseries to everyone who is calling him a Superman ripoff, so they could see what I do.

Hey guys. Here in Vegas all the guys that read Marvel Comics wish the Sentry was dead. You're right about the constant whinning and the Bad Superman re-make (Hyperion 712 is much better!). Not sure if I'm gonna continue with Dark Avengers...
