"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety" - Ben Franklin"
So, not everyone agrees with that...
Nuts, Ouchmaker beat me to it.
sometimes I forget how hard it is to be both subtle and sarcastic on the internet--I think the end to civil war was the most preposterous thing I've ever seen, both in how the final battle was resolved, as well as the thematic issues that were addressed.
"Oh, 3 stock characters that have emerged as 'real life heroes' tackle cap to prove Tony was right? BRILLIANT."

According to malakim the correct option is to use teal when posting.
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
I didn't intend for this to become a negative thread. I have read Spider-man for nearly 20 years. I have read all the "Brand new Day comics" and they are mostly forgettable stories. The Stories feel like I have read them 10 years ago as they feel like re-treads.
THANK YOU! I have been saying that about BND since it's beginning. I gave it a 2 month period before dropping it. In my opinion any Spider-Man fan is going to have a negative take on any duscussion about BND. The answer to your question is being carefuly guarded by Joephisto and/or no one realy has any clue. The writers must hate questions like this because they just wanted to rehash some 70's era Spidey stories thus making thier jobs a lot easier so they can cram 3 issues a month..... Sorry but Joephisto ruined my favorite super hero.

The Stories are not Horrible. Their decent, they just feel out of place and not a continuation of the spiderman I read as a kid/teenager/adult.
Spiderman working at the bugle as a photographer. Check
Editor that hates spiderman. Check
Peter having relationsship Problems. Check
Peter broke. Check
the Title shouldn't be "Brand new Day" it should be "More of the same"
Spider-man never registered. Early issues of BND made this clear when Jackpot and some other D-Lister kept trying to arrest him for being unregistered. When he was shot by police during the recent 'Character Assassination' arc it was because he was unregistered. Yes, some people who knew his identity before have been made to forget it. Mephisto removed from the 616 reality those 'threads' that compromised Spider-man's secret identity. We will see some of the fallout from that with next weeks ASM.
Spider-man as a tool of the government does not work. Period. He is the original anti-hero: loved by the masses, despised by the authorities. He was a symbol of the 1960s teen rebellion and was the very anti-thesis of the 1970s "Me" generation. Whatever the status quo may be, Spider-man ain't it!
I'm a Spider-fan from all the way back to 1972 but one of my favorite moments in Spider-history was when Peter turned on Tony Stark; when Peter finally realized that he really had no place as a government enforcer and did the right thing. Now, did Mephisto 'undo' all of that? No, not at all. Those events led directly to Mephisto's removal of those threads. But even though the threads have been lifted from 616-reality, they still exist and are still vital to what went on before and what has followed since.
Do I like everything that BND has brought? No. Do I like it better than what came before? I don't know yet. But it is all part of the grand Spider-tapestry and I am very cool with that.
Wow. The more I read about the goings on in the Marvel Universe over the last ten or so years, the more convinced I am that I made the right decision when I stopped buying new comics in the late 90s.

Wow, that's like saying I'm glad I stopped playing with stock in 1929 so that I don't have stock now.
Don't let the 90's comics and the current situation stop you from enjoying the comics that came between those times. And apart from Spider-Man and the crazy amount of big events going on, now is not a bad time for Marvel comics in general.
