This is probably old news and some of you guys probably know about this one already.
According to Nihon Keizai (Japanese Economic newspaper). Marvel and Tatsunoko Production have announced joint projects which will feature characters from both companies teaming up.
After Takara Tomy (owner of Tatsunoko) struck a deal with Marvel to manufacture toys based on Marvel characters for sale in Japan and Asia, they have also come to agreement to produce Anime series which will feature characters from Marvel Universe and Tatsunoko Pro. which is projected for airing within 3 years worldwide.
Tatsunoko Pro have produced Anime series since 1962. Its popular works includes Speed Racer, Space ninja Gatchaman (AKA Battle of the planets), Robot Fighter Casshern, Herricane Polymar, Space Knight Tekkaman and Tekkaman Blade, Macross, Mospeada, Southern Cross (3 series compiled into Robotech ), Evangelion, Karas, etc.
I'm really curious about this project, especially the anime series. While I doubt it'll be as great a series as something like Spectacular Spider-Man (the reigning champ of Marvel cartoons), I'm hoping it'll be a nice change of pace from the regular super hero shows we get.
I just hope it doesn't end up like the Japanese Spider-Man series from the 70's. If you've never seen it before.. well, words fail me. I'm sure there are a few episodes bouncing around youtube somewhere.

Yeah, I caught a couple on the "Tube. Very Bizzarre. But not much worse than the 70's version we got here in the U.S.
True, but at least the US version was fairly true to the comics. There may not have been any super-villains, but that's nothing new. The old Adventures of Superman series with George Reeves never had any super-villains either. Sadly, I'd have to say that the FX on the Japanese version were actually better in some ways. I was in elementary school when the US series came out, and I still found some of the FX laughable. Whenever Spidey would climb the walls of a building, the speed his hands and feet were moving didn't even come close to matching how fast he was climbing upward. The cables pulling him up were pretty obvious, too. That wouldn't have been so bad if they'd at least had great stories to compensate. The FX on Doctor Who were terrible back then, but the stories were good enough to look past the wobbly sets and such.
At this point we still don't know enough of anything. But I am sure it will be nothing like Japanese Spiderman, that's from Toei. Tatsunoko makes anime, not live-action shows. If the deal results in joint anime projects, I really like to see it. Hmm... Silver Surfer v/s Tekkaman. Spider-man team up with Polymar, Avengers v/s Gatchaman. Casshern helps X-men trashing Sentinel army, Yatterman v/s Howard the Duck..... OK, the last one is a terrible idea.
