i've used him only once but when i did he was very effective as a support piece, hiding behind and following Namor around the map while boosting Namor's stats to aid him in destroying all his enemies. i wouldn't leave him out on his own by any means though so use him as a decent supporter.

Possibly the most indespensible figure in my collection. Put him on a roof, equipped with Brilliant Tactician, looking over an army of Spider-Men. Brutal.
Tough to lock down, with all that L/C, Plasticity. The best representation of Reed's brains to date.

A straight-forward Mr. Fantastic. Finally he can serve as a capable leader and cornerstone of the Fantastic Four. Just imagine him with Brilliant Tactician, making the rest of his Fantastic Four teammates better while taking part in the actual battle himself.

Like the rest of the FF, at 100 points he's a bit costly as the support piece he is. But that Genius power not only makes his team MUCH better, it can also boost his solid natural stats to make him a similarly solid 2nd attacker on his own.

Add this piece with the FF ATA or the CM LE Invisible Woman. With the new replacement rules, the Fantastic Four are amazing!

This is a great representation of the character. I like using brilliant tactician with him on 'Illuminati' teams.

cant you use perplex to up all the combat values by 2 or just one i thought the power says up combat values by +2 or _2 not combat vaule by +2 or -2

That's how I read it, though others have disagreed with me. Other cards with similar powers read "give +2 or -2 to one of the target's combat abilities" yet this one reads in the plural (exactly like the Infinity Gauntlet). Unless is says "one of" plural is plural, IMHO.

@koala & karatejoe1978 - That's possibly the definition of 'game changer' insofar as his effectiveness. He's damn solid if you read it as +2 to one stat but...wow. Can we get clarification on this? Is it just a poor wording? My scientist team is already pretty beefy but Iid love even more power :)

It does say combat values, not just a singular value. This makes Reed's Inventive Genuis utterly game changing....and surprisingly comic accurate for Reed. Good catch,guys.
