If I recall, he once broke all his bones. And more recently, he was supposedly paralyzed for life in the early part of his appearances in the Thunderbolts.
Oh, man, did I love that comic in which American Eagle beat the hell out of him. That was a world-class beat-down.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
I'm probably the only one that fell for it, but "The Life and Times of Lucas Bishop" series was kind of a scam.
It's actually probably a really good recap of his history if you're not familiar with the character, and I even think it was enjoyable enough for someone like me that knows his history backward and forward. But....
1. The art was atrocious.
2. No new developments - at all. The previews clearly said that there would be info revealed about the messiah child, and there wasn't. Near as I could tell, the only "new" info in this whole series was that Storm is very possibly Bishop's grandmother, and that they're still being vague about whether or not Gambit is actually the Witness (even though it's been clearly established he isn't.)
Overall, decent. And X-Force still rocks - but why can't Vanisher teleport? I don't remember that....
I went back and added to this week's purchases after reading an online review about Ghost Rider #34.
It was a short, one-issue break from the larger story about Ghost Rider's war with the angel Zadkiel.
In this issue, Danny Ketch, thrown to Earth with a fraction of the power he'd had in previous issues, finds the old curse has returned. He is a Ghost Rider again. While contemplating his horrible decisions and how they've enabled the imminent end of the world, Ketch's bike leads him to the trail of the Highwayman, a villain not seen by me since the old days of the U.S. 1 comic. For those who've never had the pleasure of reading that goofy, 80s-era trucker comic book, the Highwayman was basically a demonic trucker. That's right - Danny Ketch Ghost Rider vs. the demonic trucker from U.S. 1. Comics gold.
Another plus this issue had was that this issue was the second in a row with Tony Moore doing the art. Tan Ang Huat, the former artist, didn't work for me. I really didn't like the look of the comic while he was onboard. Tony Moore, on the other hand, works just fine.

Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch team up to fight Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson!
Oh, man, that would be an awesome comic book.
You can almost picture the scene. Willie lighting a joint off of the head of a Ghost Rider as Kristofferson forces the other GR to watch the unedited version of "Heaven's Gate". Truly an evil group.

And once the GR's get the upper hand Johnny Cash sings a song while the others make their escape. Before the Ghost Riders realize the Highwaymen have disappeared to the night. Only the chorus is heard behind distant hills:
"Yippie yi Ohhhhh
Yippie yi Yaaaaay"

I was wondering if you'd connect the Riders song to this. But Vaughn Monroe sang the song best.
Re: the Lucas Bishop mini
-One thing I hadn't seen before that I thought was neat was how Bishop pictured the X-men in his head from granda's (Storm's i guess?) stories.
But yeah, I was hoping for a little more new material. I'm still wondering if at some point Bishop will be redeemed and Hope really should have gotten killed by him.
Light week for new stuff. Used my tax return to do some catching up and got Astonishing X-Men #29.
The mutants from alternate dimensions reveal some about how they know Forge. The one who sees Forge is an enemy is killed by Logan at Scott's order(presumably), and then the team(as well as the mutant who considers Forge an ally, as Forge made his people mutants) go to see Forge, finding no longer in Dallas, but now in Wundagore Mountain.
I'm digging Ellis' run, though it seems as though he's making a point to alienate Storm from the team. Perhaps this will have some sort of pay-off as the story continues. Got a few others, but they've each been reviewed multiple times here.
