I actually went & picked up Secret Six # 9 because of this thread & it was a cool read , I also bought # 6 a couple of months back because of the Origins & Omens back-up (what-a bust was that?) I didn't like it too well, but #9 rocks
another book I would recommend would be X-Factor. That books rocks it's the best book out there. Everything from the Recap page to the cliffhanger ending is solid. Peter David at his best!

I agree that art was pretty bad, but I held on and it's gotten much better overall. The issue where Siryn had the baby was not only jaw dropping but devastatingly sad.

X-Factor is terrific. Best recap pages ever (and yes, that's a really weird compliment, but entertainment's entertainment, right?)!
The horrible art was done by Larry Stroman, and consists (mainly) of a damnable Secret Invasion crossover. But he's moved on, hopefully never to return to the book... Yeah, it was really bad.
I just saw in Previews that Secret Six issues #1 - #7 in trade. I strongly suggest that anyone who isn't reading this book yet go and pick that up when it comes out. I just read issue #9 the other day and it was excellent. Bane telling Catman why he couldn't be Batman was great. He knows Batman very well and this issue really showed that. Bane knew before Nightwing did that he was the only logical choice to replace Bruce and somewhat gives him his blessing as he leaves. It shows the great amount of respect that Bane has for Bruce and knows that nobody can ever truly take his place.

I liked that bit where the kidnap victim's father asks who is responsible for the rescue of his daughter, and Bane thinks for a moment, then answers, "The Batman."
I also like the dichotomy where Catman believes he could do Batman's job. In a sense he could, in that he's highly skilled and capable -- but that Bane sees Batman as a principle or a concept that Catman cannot even comprehend. Gail Simone is a genius.
--I also love Catman hating Nightwing. Nobody hates Nightwing.

When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.
