"Nobody does that to Jakeem, buddy. Nobody," the Thunderbolt said to Mon-El, just before he hit with a hugely powerful energy blast that took the Daxamite out of the battle.
"That's showing 'em, Thunderbolt!" Jakeem cheered him on.
"That's for sure," Alan said, flying forward to take a shot at Dream Girl.
"Silly man. You can't hit someone who knows what you're going to do," Dream Girl giggled.
"Hm, that could be a problem," Green Lantern agreed, but his mind was already working on possible ways to counter that.
Argh, those last two turns really turned the game around I think. I'm going from standing a really good chance at winning to fighting to keep my head above water now.

"I'm tired of you messing with my T-Spheres," Mr. Terrific told Brainiac 5. "I've had enough."
"Your T-Spheres remind me of a toy I had when I was an infant," Brainaic 5 yawned and caused the attacking T-Sphere to drop inertly to the floor. "Only the toy was more sophisticated. And I outgrew it by the time time I was 9 months old."
SG on Jakeem. Needs 8, rolls 12. Wow, that's 2 to Jakeem another for the critical hit and a third for hitting the wall. He's koed.
I know the Legion are good but frankly, any team with Jakeem on it scares me. I think this game is all about the rolls because with all that dv between Jakeem and Flash...just don't know how I got this far.

I'm about ready to give this one to you. You've just got too many guys there still, and most of them unscathed.
The JSA's Defenses are a big advantage, but the downside is that it only takes a couple of lucky rolls to neuter that and you got them when you needed them. Individually the JSA's figures are some of the best in the game, but we've always observed that the Legion does seem to have a special synergy that always takes us a little bit by surprise, no matter how often we've seen it in action before.
This was definitely one of those games with two of the best teams, both of whom deserved to move on, but that's how these things work. Luck of the draw. Sometimes you get two good teams paired up, sometimes two bad teams pair up allowing someone like 2000AD to move on. Somebody had to be eliminated and this time it was the JSA. In a way I'm glad. Much as I like the JSA, they've won this thing once. The Legion deserves another shot at it.
