Even though this has become somewhat circular I feel he isn't bad for his points at all. However I feel playing anyone over 150 points is somewhat counterproductive in most 300-400 scale battles. He doesn't have the most colorful dial in the world however he does have a fairly constant set of stats--and high stats at that. Remember a dial that looks like a box of fruity pebbles means more stuff to be outwitted. Thanos' power comes from his high-constant stats.

Thanos is great, especially now with perplex all over the place. Lack of running shot isn't so much of an ordeal, 185 points leaves 15 points leftover, just enough room for a Rookie Vulture and in a 200 point game You've got the 2 actions to spend anyway.

I'll chime in as a new believer in Thanos. I thought he was overpriced as well before seeing him in action. A word to the wise - take him down moderately early even if you are tempted to take out support characters, guys with OutWit, Mind Control, first etc. It seems there's always someone who you're tempted to hit before him, mainly because his dial is so darn long.
He just keeps hitting, turn after turn, with that high AV...and if you get later in the game where his AV and DV are that much better than your slightly damaged best characters, you're meat!
I love my Thanos. I really like the fact that his dial isn't full of color, and there isn't much to be outwitted. His high values almost guarantee a successful attack. I agree that he isn't very effective in low point battles, but in 500+ point battles, he really helps to dominate the board.
yea i said earlier he was horrible but i change that because i forgot about preplexers because of preplex he is one of the greatest figures in the game thanos with 3 preplexers on 1 team ill take 7 damage at 10 range any day wont you?
I played Thanos once with a Rookie Invisible girl. He can't be touched! A constant 18 def with Inv. and a monster attack value PLUS 3-4 damage for his first bunch of clicks. He wiped the floor with my opponent's team. He has no weak spots for Outwit characters like CCE or RCE. Any perplex can go straight to his damage value... who can miss with a 12-15 attack? Thanos reigns!
....
and he reigns without Battle Fury. Mine doesn't have it either.
Battle Fury was a misprint. No Thanos has it. There is no such thing as a "Mad Titan" or a "Mellow Thanos" They are all the same, as far as I have seen. And Thanos didn't need Con Artists to become awesome (chep perplex) as long as he had SHIELD agents around. But with Perplexers, Enhancers AND SHIELD all available, Thanos should have a field day. PC is also good, if someone actually MAKES the roll needed to hit Thano's 18 Defense; make them re-roll.

Any figure can be strong with proper support. Thanos is not worth his points. He does 4 damage for just one click. His combat values are the best in the game but no one is more susceptible to outwit. He should have been given and hopefully someday will be given some outwit as well as super strength. I think Darkseid is a solid reflection of what Thanos should be.
For his dial full of outwit and his damage values, + invulnerability I think Darkseid is underpriced.
Chuck Norris is the only person who can simultaneously hold and fire FIVE Uzis: One in each hand, one in each foot, and the 5th one he roundhouse-kicks into the air, so that it sprays bullets.
I think Darkseid costs exactly what he should. He's a beast, but he doesn't exactly have great stats. Attack never goes over 10, and defense never over 16. I think at least an 11 attack should be in order. Yes you can Perplex it, but you can Perplex just about anything.
I think that Thanos should have been somewhere around there as well though. But with the powers available at the time, he should have gotten some Outwit, some RCE, and maybe Super-Strength. He'd never use it though. You could probably justify giving him any power at all, but the fact is that he usually just doesn't use them. He *could* have mind control, but he's much more likely to just zap people. Same reasojn Manhunter didn't get MC - he just doesn't use it 99% of the time.
