WCAvengers turn 15a

The last remaining cat-creature loomed over the unconscious form of Morgan Le Fay only briefly. It seemed to return to its senses after the mesmerization by Dr Druid. It turned its feline head at the bald sorcerer and roared.

“Uh oh,” Mockingbird said. “It looks like you upset it when you made it attack its mistress.” She glanced over at Dr Druid, but he didn’t respond. He was still on his knees, shoulders drooping, with his head bowed in fatigue.

With a great snarl, the cat-creature leapt across the chamber towards Dr Druid. The bald man hardly moved as the bloody talons and sharp teeth of the fierce feline approached.

Ant-Man sprang forward. “Moon Knight,” he shouted, “quickly!”

Moon Knight rapidly drew several crescent darts. He unleashed them in a barrage of slicing silver. Moon Knight buried three of the sharp blades deep in an arm and a leg of the cat-creature with such force that the feline man-beast was hurtled backwards. It was bowled over but sprang back quickly to its feet, er, paws.



- Ant-Man moves to J14.
- (‘free’) Ant-Man uses Perplex to increase Moon Knight’s Damage +1.
- Moon Knight attacks Wildcat > AV7 vs DV14 > roll: 4+4=8 HIT. Wildcat takes 1 damage after Toughness and is knocked back to I17.

Impressive lot of upgrades mate! Pym is just one point away from leaving his Ant-man identity behind and becoming GIANT-MAN! Woot. And then we can get Scott Lang in the RPSC (my favourite Ant-Man).

Hey are you reading Mighty Avengers? Pym is becoming really cool under Dan Slott's excellent writing.

What feats would you be looking at getting? You can only buy feats for non-maxed out characters after the annual, or are you looking for Feats for Sersi, Simon, Tigra or Moon Knight?

**Epilogue**

The last of Morgan Le Fay’s enthralled cat-beings fell to the floor, unconscious. Mockingbird let loose an audible sigh of relief, while Ant-Man quickly returned to his six-foot height and dashed over to help Iron Man to his feet. Until Iron Man was able to move himself, Ant-Man was not able to budge the heavy suit, but the gesture was appreciated.

“Thanks,” Iron Man said. “I don’t know what that witch was doing to me. I couldn’t see straight,” he continued, placing an armored gauntlet to his helmet in a gesture of grogginess.

“Now that we’ve gotten to the root of Tigra’s transformation, we should have be able to resolve the problem,” Ant-Man replied. He then turned to address their sorcerous helper. “Thank you. I doubt we could have countered Morgan’s magic without your assistance.”

Dr Druid seemed hardly to hear Ant-Man. His eyes were closed tightly in concentration. “It… is… in this direction,” Dr Druid said, extending an arm.

“What’s in this direction?” Mockingbird asked. She followed Dr Druid as he obviously began to search for something.

“The talisman,” Dr Druid answered. “When the cat people did not revert to their more human forms after Morgan was knocked out, it became clear that the sorceress had used a receptacle to imprison their spirits. Then she was able to manipulate and control them and their actions.

“Aha!” Dr Druid exclaimed, as he identified a large and ornate necklace draped around one of the statues adorning Morgan’s lair. He examined it carefully, turning it over in his fingers several times. The he began to chant under his breath in a language no-one in the room had ever heard before. With a dramatic gesture, he opened the amulet, and a tiny amount of dust or smoke seemed to escape from it. The smoke quickly dissipated, and the Avengers heard simultaneous groans from the unconscious cat-beings.

<BEEP> The Avengers comm units suddenly sounded, and Mockingbird activated hers to respond. “Clint?” she asked, “are you alright?”

The others could hear Hawkeye’s voice, “Just fine, pretty bird. Everybody’s okay here. What’s happening on your end? Tigra just lost her long toes, and the other cats look like people again.”

“It’s a long story,” Mockingbird said. “It was Morgan Le Fay, and she…” Mockingbird stopped short. She had turned to look at the sorceress, but Morgan was nowhere to be seen.

“She’s gone,” Dr Druid stated soberly. “It would have been very difficult to hold her here. She is quite powerful still.”

Mockingbird stepped in, saying, “Why don’t you come back to California with us? We might be able to track Morgan from there. Dr Pym has a lot of sophisticated equipment…”

Dr Druid seemed nonplussed by the idea. “Work with a team?… I have…” After a brief pause, Dr Druid continued, “Perhaps at a later date, for the paths I can perceive of our futures quickly become unclear, lost in the fog of exigency. No, for now, I must pursue Morgan Le Fay alone – and without delay; but I thank you for your offer.”

Ant-Man nodded in appreciation and respect. The he spoke into his comm unit, “Hawkeye, try to clean up as well as you can at the shopping center, make sure the wounded receive attention, and order a bunch of pizzas. We’re coming home.”
