Clixcast: Episode 40 Neca/Wizkids is Listening If you downloaded the original version from later last night. It had audio issues. Those have been corrected, sorry for the inconvenience.
This week Steve and Gudda reveal some exciting news about NECA/WIZKIDS, at least exciting to them. They discuss Prize Kit information and talk about everything revealed so far!
Liked the show, but I can't believe you gave away the BM cameo in the movie!!! I never knew about it going into the theatre and it was such an awesome surprise ...

sorries...i am just a big bill murray fan for the most part i thought it was awesome...least i didn't ruin what happens.
i suck at math. the only thing i can do is add up a team.
I listened to the original version and was curious to know if you realized there were technical difficulties. I got on the Realms later to see the link gone, and figured out that you pulled the Clixcast for those very reasons. I'm glad to see that you could fix the problem, because I am looking forward to listening to it again.
Gudda: Thanks for pointing out that NECA should only concentrate on the PRIMARY market for Heroclix. If people play and enjoy the game, the secondary market will take care of itself...ESPECIALLY when we have a very natural progression of certain characters/figures not being remade.
Further listening...about "character card sets": You guys need to KISS! (Keep it Simple, Stupid)
Assigning traits and altering dials wouldn't be bad...IF the cards were essentially character-specific feat cards....but let's not get out of control! Most characters need little more than dial-top changes: team ability, Sharpshooter, Indomitable, range value (for 0-range barrier/incap) and a few need "baked-in" feats like Auto-regen....and let's not forget to improve keywords?
Anywho: The sales model shouldn't be more complicated than a complete box of cards (no collectability, as there is no particular reason for duplicates).
As for buy vs. pdf...the "bought" versions need to do nothing except bring figures out of retirement...that alone would guarantee sales. There may be players that insist they need 'duplicate cards' for certain teams...but really, if you absolutely must play with dupes of retired figures (and that is often *me*), just wait for an unrestricted event...or suck it up and buy more than one of those card sets! (that's how most of us have our dupes, right?)
Another comment on card-set potentials:
There is no reason to focus on complete sets, they could easily just concentrate on team-specific packs. I'd happily buy update packs for X-Men/Mutants/Brotherhood, Avengers, Suicide Squad, etc. without having to worry if "SWAT Agent" had to get updated. The card sets could easily stretch across multiple releases.

Amen. we werent talking about complicating anything just adding traits. IN our next podcast you will hear an example.
Great cast, guys! Sorry if I'm not able to get a transcript done this week. I've got a couple tests to study for. We'll see if I can find some time to do one...
It's funny you mentioned it, but I requested "The zombie survival guide : complete protection from the living dead" from my local library a couple of weeks ago - looks like it has quite the waiting list!
A question for the NECA folks once/if you get them; Why are other sites getting previews while HCRealms isn't? If you're talking strictly Heroclix audience, this is the place.
Thanks!

That is a good question ... the best i can suggest is too make sure that NECA knows that HC realms is where you go for Heroclix news and stuff... if they feel thats where they can find there audiance im sure they will take advantage of it .
