A character with the Charge power that begins its action in a square adjacent
to an opposing character must break away before using the power. (under CHARGE)
AND
A break away roll is required only when physically moving a character, who
is adjacent to an opposing character, into a different square. If a character is given a move action but does not actually move (to pick up an adjacent object, for example), a break away roll is not required. (under BREAK AWAY)
If a fig with Charge and SS is adjacent to both an opposing fig and an object and wants to pick up the object and hit the opposing fig with it, a move action is necissary, but no actual movement is needed. What ruling holds precident?

Let's say Batman is on top of a heavy object. Booster Gold sits Veteran Superman down next to Batman. Does Superman have to break away to pick up the object during his charge Batman? Because Superman never leaves his square.
yes, he does have to roll for breakaway because you're trying to pull off an attack. now if you chose to just take it out from under him, you could, BUT you then couldnt attack that turn. so, hence the risk of the breakaway failing, you d be stuck there without an object and nary an attack. if i were you, i d just grab the object out from under bats and un-stealth him, let your rooftop snipers tear him apart, if you ve got some
