Guardians of the Galaxy, Secret Warriors, Thunderbolts
3.) Breakout characters of 2009
Nova
There was no Annihilation book in 2009. Do you mean War of Kings? Also, Secret Invasion was a 2008 storyline. 2009 would be Dark Reign.
I definitely vote War of Kings.
Best heroes are Medusa (is she still a hero?), Cyclops (big win for him), and Daredevil (I always rank him high). Best villains would go to Gladiator (is he a villain?), Norman (overused, but undeniably important), and the Hood (who still dances that fine line of incompitent and a major player; I love watching him in the transition). Best book goes to Uncanny X-men, leading a big mutant comeback.
Breakout character? Tough call; Ronan's recently become a lot more interesting, and Mockingbird is firmly taking her place back.
1.) Best storylines in Marvel 2009 War of Kings for sure, and I'll echo Worlds Most Wanted.
2.) Best heroes, groups, villains, books Guardians of the Galaxy was my favorite book this year, and they're also one of the top groups too. Other books that were at the to of my list this year are Secret Warriors, Ultimate Spider-Man (Post-Ultimatum especially), and Invincible Iron Man, with Tony Stark being one of my top heroes for the year (Along with Nick Fury). While I could see it being argued either way, I'd probably put down Norman Osborn as one of the best villains.
On a side note, and even though its not a category here, I'd probably have to say that Incredible Hercules is probably the best book I'm not reading yet from Marvel, given all I've heard about it.
Nova for best hero and best book
Loki for best villain
Asgardians for best group
3.) Breakout characters of 2009
Darkhawk - great revamp of this character to make him interesting and important. I really don't want to see him fade away after this. In many ways he's the anti-Nova Prime, which has loads of potential
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"
