CBR have put together a list of their top100 Comics, I pull 9 of them, what about yourselves?

For myself I pull the following:

A couple I keep an eye on:
Incredibles (not available outside the US, thanks BOOM Studios)
Fables

I did collect Doom Patrol but it hit the drop pile just before Blackest Night, I was not enjoying Giffen's take.
Wednesday Comics, I may get in trade, I liked some of the stories.

Instead of just listing what I currently pull, I will list all the ones I bought and read, indicating which ones I am still pulling.

It looks like I read almost exactly a third of the CBR list. There are a lot of other gems I would like to read that I haven't, though - Madame Xanadu, Scott Pilgrim, I Kill Giants, and Asterios Polyp especially.

I also bought a single issue of Hercules last week when I was getting back issues at 50% off, but I don't think it's enough to count. Even if I did, that's still less than a 10th of the issues they list. I can't say I'm entirely surprised, given I like to keep my pick list on the small side.

No Guardians of the Galaxy?


They obviously don't read all of Marvel's comics then. Geez.

Well, lists like that are always arbitrary on some level anyway. I don't think it's really worth getting worked up about, and I say this as someone who'd put GotG as his favorite series right now.

Who knows how they picked the comics or if by the reasoning it didn't just get shut out. You could take the same list, give it to a dozen different people, and get a dozen different results (or more). The important thing is when the good books do get constant recognition and you can find a consensus of some kind among enough people who agree that yes, this is a good read.

And so long as books like Guardians is getting that kind of respect, I'm not going to fret over it being left off the list of a single site.

The first step was to find the world's most elitist fanboys to pick 'em -- which explains why I've never heard of 33%-50% of the books on that list.

Scanning through the list there are 40 I have never heard of. (10 from each of the quarters).

And I too am a little surprised that GotG didn't get a showing, but I think a majority of the selectors go along with JQ and dislike/don't understand/don't read "Space stories".

Duly noted.

Not overly impressed with their list as it doesn't include:

Nova, Conan, Atomic Robo, or Mouse Guard

hmmm I Know Hack Slash isn't Insanely popular.. SIGH....
oh well at least Fables and LoEG: 1910 made it

Or Project Superpowers (not even the awesome [and crazily violent] Death-Defying Devil miniseries).

Wait, Amazing Spider-Man ranks higher than both 20th Century Boys and Pluto? I don't think I want to bother with the rest of this list.

That mini series was great. I haven't read the rest of the books, but did pick up the TPB of the DDD mini. You are spot on for it's shear awesomeness.

He really felt like a cross between Snake Eyes and Captain America. A quiet, uber-### kicking machine that takes no prisoners.
