Sorry to announce that one of my favorite wrestlers, Dr. Death Steve Williams succumbed to throat cancer the day before yesterday. I liked him as a heel with the Varsity Club. His style was similar to Hacksaw Jim Duggan but he always seemed like a good tough guy.

What happened to all the wrestling fans on the realms?

My son was just asking me today who Steve Williams is (he got a Mr. Fuji action figure today and ol' Dr. Death was one of the figures pictured on the back).

So long, Steve, you'll be remembered.

Well Dr. Death had been struggling with his cancer for years so sad as it is, it wasn't really a shock.

I hadn't heard about Sandman. What happened there?

Carp! I hadn't heard about Sandman either! Yeah Dr. Death was a fantastic "real" Collegiate (sure that spelled wrong) style Wrestler. The Varsity Club was FANTASTIC back in the day.

Well according to Wikipedia, Sandman is alive.

Ok So Sandman is alive? Good. You gotta add Capt. Lou Albano to the list as he was a Wrestler early on in his career.

Well it's good hear that Sandman is still kicking obviously the site I read was wrong and is not to be trusted. Okay lesson learned, but still way to many pro wrestling deaths for such a short period of time.

Here's some good news.

For several years it's been feared that Perry Saturn was dead as no one including his immediate family had any idea where he was. I saw a post showing him alive and well a few weeks back on 411 Mania.

And here's some more bad news.

Finnish wrestler Tony Halme; who wrestled in the WWE as Ludvig Borga and feuded with Lex Luger has passed away at the age of 47. He was in MMA and served in the Finnish parliament. He had also written four books in his native language.

Substance abuse may have been the cause of death.
