Seriously, the horse died months ago, but go right ahead and keep beating it.
I'm actually kind of intrigued by New Mutants. I've never really been that interested in them but so far it's been kind of interesting.
I thought Siege was pretty good. Looks like there's going to be some decent action in the upcoming issues. I haven't been following much of the dark reign or even thor stuff, so my opinion is pretty ignorant of how it all fits together. It just seems like it should be fun.
without knowing his comics backstory, or even that much greek mythology, i do not understand why Ares, a greek god, is so dumb and easily manipulated.
I do like Loki playing both sides, I like how they show that Norman is overstepping his bounds with the American government, which hopefully could draw this whole bad guys are ok to the public thing to a close... Other than that it's just your typical bad guy pulling a Napoleon and trying to take over too much.
If the story has a definitive ending, it would be great, but with Marvel's track record over the last decade, I doubt it will resolve many story lines and probably create more than is necessary.

From a pure myth standpoint, Ares is an easily manipulated boor. In Greek myth, he's a hated god. He's there for heroes to beat up, and get made fun of. He's the typical crass bully who likes pushing people around, but folds like a wet newspaper when up against a tough enough foe.
The Romans however venerated Mars, and he went from a crass cowardly bully, despised by the other Olympians to a heroic soldier. Basically representing all the Romans saw as noble and virtuous in the soldier. He was still the god of war, but now he was noble and worthy of veneration (where as the Greeks hated and despised Ares).
"Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad,
He's so bad, he mak'a me mad
Un-fun Dad, un-fun Dad
He's a real cad, Un-fun Dad"

Well that clears that up, thanks. So, Ares is somewhat accurate.
siege was fairly solid. i dont think ares is being entirely manipulated. he knows whats going on. and would not be surprised to see him trn on osborn before its all over.
i found myself really enjoying siege: embedded tho. the civil war frontline stuff was good, but the SI one was ####....this tho looks good, ben urich, will stern and volstagg on a road trip promises to be enjoyable.
at first, with using volstagg as the "incident" to kick things off, i was rather bummed, being a big warriros three fan. but, with that getting him into this boook, it should be enjoyable
question on Siege Number 1...in the back is Are's battle plan...but it has the same text as the first page of the plan in there twice...was that some sort of mistake on Marvel's part?
