I understand your point Matt and agree to a point. but again they have to buy alot of product that may never move if there wasn't some incentive given by Wizkids in order to get your cool LE's. otherwise they can't even purchase prize support for events.
A lot of product?
They have to buy TWO cases to be able to order one prize pack.
That's 40 boosters. If the store is NOT selling at least 40 boosters, then maybe they're not the type of store that needs to be running heroclix events anyways.
They could have drafts, sealed tournaments, sell the singles, and other activities to move along that small amount of product if they really wanted to.
Again, I am not just talking out of my butt here. I love the B&M stores BUT they have advatanges already over online stores (tournaments, prize kits, Free Comic Book Day figures & New Guy Night figures in the past AND possibly the future from the looks of it).
I ran a comic store for 8 years (it is still running strong to this day too) so it's not like I am unfamiliar with these problems. However, we made it worth the players while to shop at our store. We offered incentives aside from what Wizkids was offering. We started using the internet to help us make money too. It ended up helping us big time in terms of covering the everyday monotony bills we had to worry about. B&M stores need to step it up in this day and age themselves if they want to survive.

"Fantasy Land.
I have been to TONS of stores that sell Heroclix VERY WELL and their best abiliti s ####. they do not give two craps about tournament play or making the players comfortable. They are clueless as to what to do or how to run things. B&M stores are useful, but they are hardly the messiah that some make them out to be. "
How do you figure? If you hit someone with no token they probably won't push and have the advantage of a higher defense for the rest of the turn.
If you hit someone that already had a token, then they couldn't push anyway and still get a defense boost.
If you couldn't deal with an enemy's defense power and were trying to push them off of it, you not only may not succeed, but if you do they get a +2 defense out of it that all the rest of your team has to try and hit for a turn.

From the looks of the card, he doesn't figure to have it on his top click. So, reducing an opponents damage potential will probably come after the damage is already done. To be any use, it would have to be on the 2nd or 3rd click.
Still, if he has dual (or you put on 'Ambidextrous') plus 'Stunning Blow'...you'd could probably have a lot of fun creating your own little Munchkin land.
First time I read the card quickly, I thought it said -2 to defense. But thanks to first "pleasant" reply, but the second reply which is shows a lot more insight; I re-read the card again. It is a +2 defense. Still not a power that is good as it should be, but it can still be a pain if use correctly.
