...and Daken certainly tops my 'needs to go' list.

Rep to everyone that hates Daken!!!
Marvel has way too many clawed mutants running around now-a-days. Time to kill them all off with the exceptions of Wolvie and X-23. You listening Marvel? It's time to clean up your cluttered house...
Marvel already cleaned it's cluttered house of mutants one and half times already. Once with the end of house of M and the "half" one was the Genoshia being nuked by Sentinels ( while no real "main characters" died, a good half of the mutant population did ). Marvel's problem is that they keep re-powering mutants since House of M to suit writers needs. An example being both Iceman and Magneto ... two of my favorite X-Characters but for the love of everything they should not have their powers back! I think Moonstar is the only legit X-Man still de-powered from House of M. Sorry Dani.
On a complete side note; Why re-power Iceman if no writer is gonna use him anyway?
But on to the original topic: I hate Daken as a concept, but he is highly entertaining a character. He's no Sabretooth, who was an amazing character and villain, but he's far better then the joke that is Romulus. And I agree that I think that it's all a possible future/asgardians messing with Daken with the whole killing Osborn ending.
Also on a completely unrelated tangent: If Spidey isn't the person to fight Osborn to the finish at the end of Dark Reign/Siege, it'll be a travesty. It's his Arch-Foe for crying out loud.

I think the Sinister Spiderman (Venom) has pretty good reason to want Norman dead and I wouldn't mind seing that fight. I like Daken but he needs to pay for helping turn The Punisher into a wreched piece of garbage. Yeah, I know all Daken did was cut him up but that was the catalyst for his conversion into the horrible piece of trash his charator has become
Frank'n Castle

Rictor still is, over in X-Factor. Dunno if he was ever technically an X-Man though.
To further the tangent, my original money was actually on Ben Urich to end this by putting a bullet in Osborn's head. But he's been off the radar a lot, other than an appearance in the Hawkeye mini, and the upcoming Siege: Embedded title. Likewise with Songbird, who should be another candidate to, oh, actually do ANYTHING but has been gone too long. And the latest New Avengers has Spiderman not seeming to actually care who takes Norman down, just that it will happen. I know it seems harsh, but if this whole massive thing ends with Osborn not being killed somehow, I think I'll be disappointed.
I dunno how I feel aout taking "hate" Rep, but I ain't a proud man soooo....

Don't forget the Mutant Massacre; Marvel's first attempt at culling the herd.

Yes, but she has pledged her service again to Hela and now posseses some powers as well as a "god-killer" weapon.

This made me LOL. I agree completely.
Bobby is, however, providing fresh water (by way of melted ice) to all the inhabitants of Utopia X.

Romulus; the only concept executed worse than Daken.

Yeah, but Iron Patriot may be a bit out of Pete's weight-class, you know? Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the fight but no way should Pete win in a straight-up knuckle duster unless Norman rolls some crit misses.

Tony should give Pete back his Spider Armor just for the sole purpose of leveling the playing field, so Peter can kick Norman's ###. Or better yet, have Pete re-design and fix the armor himself to be able to go after Norman. Peter is a scientist and inventor after all. I don't want to see him go back to the Spidey Armor, but a one time thing or to have for occasions where it is needed would be fine. I like the fact that Pete is not freaking out like Hawkeye because he knows that Norman will fail and fail in a big way. It is very adult and mature of him.

Rictor was in New Mutants, which is close enough.
The reason Peter David hasn't needed to re-mutify Rictor in X-Factor is that he's actually using Rictor's personality and history to help drive the story, rather than just his super powers. Turns out that this works just fine.
Can't forget the mutant massacre! Good story ... I do love the needless yet awesome Thor tie-in issues.
I know about Dani and Hela's deal. I just think it's a crock of poo that we are making M-Day pretty much a wasted gesture. Peter David is an amazing writer and X-Factor is no exception. I apperciate him not re-powering Rictor and still making him an interesting character.
On another completely unrelated note, why is Wolverine the only mutant to venture outside of utopia? Or the X-Teams for that matter? I feel like as much as Marvel wants the X-Men to keep to themselves ( which is ####. I remember when Cyclops X-Factor was one of Marvel's premier superhero teams ... and out performing superheroics too! ), we have too many freakin' X-Men. How awesome would it be to have a few of them break off and do other things ... like be on an initiative team? Or have Angel bankroll and lead an all-new Champions team? Or put Iceman on the Avengers? Or something!
I have a lot of love for the X-Men ... especially the original X-Men. If you've been fighting evil since puberty, you gotta be a good hero ... or at least good on a team. I just wish Marvel would spread out the X-Love a bit more. I want half of the X-Men gone and on different superhero teams. I think I'd make for some great stories.

I think Pete could take Osborn in the Iron Patriot outfit. Well ... let me rephrase that. If Pete was full of rage and had nothing left to lose he could take Osborn in the Iron patriot armor. He wrecked Iron Man in the "What If?: Back in Black" one shot. But that was a Peter Parker with nothing to lose.
Ever since I witnessed Spidey single handedly rock the X-Men in Secret Wars ( until Xavier put him down with a psychic bolt ), I firmly believe that Peter Parker with nothing left to lose and not caring about his own well being would be the single most dangerous man in the Marvel universe.

Peter David is an adequate writer and X-Factor is no exception.
Fixed that for you. LOL

I disagree, the cosmic stuff is some of the only consistently well-written work that Marvel is doing right now!

im not even a big spider-man fan and i agree with this.
The whole Wolverine storyline including Daken has become quite a friggin' mess IMO.
Not how I would have done the character's history at all.
Where do they find these writers and why do they let them get away with this carp?
How many kids/clones/doppelgangers do we need?
The current Wolverine and The X Men cartoons are better than this stuff.
Marvel needs to hit the cosmic reset button BAD.
another reason i hate grant morrison. cassandra nova, a twin of professor x who was killed by xavier in the womb only to be a powerful psychic force that looks like she is in her midget 70's. wow. and what is even crazier is people get offended if i speak ill of the "great" morrison

I agree too. I really think they missed the boat with Spider-Man during Civil War. I think he should have stepped up and been a leader in the anti-reg side. Really could have done a lot for character growth. Of course that's not what they wanted. They wanted to revert him back to the goofy high school/young adult Peter Parker.
