For some time now I have been contemplating on these 3 martial artists:
SI Ironfist + lunge (I kind of think it is a given :P)
SI Elektra Human
SI Gamora
All of their point levels are very near each other 70~85 depending certain feats. All of them are staple figures in the tournament scene and each is just crazy good.
My question is if you only had to keep 1 of them who would you pick and why?
I tend to lead to the last two because of the charge options. I think with Indom, Elektra is the best bet, but if you expect to go up against a heavily armored opponent (someone rocking indom or invul) then I would take Gamora because of the exploit/blades combo. She really wreaked havok on Superman Prime for me in one game with that.
Elektra is more mobile, though, and I love the indom on her.
i gotta go with human elektra. with lunge, maneuver and vault her ability to cross the board and inflict some serious damage is phenomenal. i love gamora as well, but ill almost always choose the PM/IF duo over IF (hes solid tho and ive played him in sealed) and if i really wanna break the duo up, i dig the older IF more
Theme would of course come into play, I always play theme now, so Im gonna stick them on theme, your choice on a Martial Artist team. Lets break them down:
-Gamora-If I had TK, a great long range taxi and others to help out that could also tie them down till the next turn, I would got with Gamora, she also has the biggest damage potential with Blades/EW, but its a gamble. You could roll a 6 on a big point character, and she would beat the others out hands down even if she got beat to a pulp the next turn, or you could rolll a 1, and cry, but it would still go through, or just do her 3 (Stupid Blades 3 Damage folks making me choose).
-Iron Fist-If I had a Batman Ally or other good teams to copy, I would go with Iron Fist. Hes got flurry and 3 Damage, which is the biggest Damage potential with lets say perplex, but no charge like the others. Lunge helps on this, and could do big damage to two people with the lunge/Flurry and some perplex. If you can meet these situations, hes your best choice.
-Elektra-She is the most versitile, and protects herself the most. She has built in Stealth, L/C, and Charge. Depending on your team, she is the most moble, but among the 3 has the lowest base damage and Attack Value, Flurry helps that too though, and she has a 6 charge range by herself with Lunge. If you have no W/c abuse and need somene that is more self sufficient, go with Elektra.
All 3 qualify for a free Protected on the first Click with no feedback damage!!!
So it demends on the situation. I like Elektra the most out of the 3 personally.
Iron fist all the way. If he gets the first hit with that flurry for 3 damage he has just about taken either of them out. loner for and lunge for the extra points to make him 80.
I use Gamora, but thats only cause of the three she is the character whose books i read. GotG is one of my favorite books and i think she is amazing in it. From a strict playability view, well I tihnk Iron Fist's wildcard TA make up for a lot.

The problem I have with Elektra is actually the damage department. I usually find that I need to perplex it up to at least 3 to 4. OR I target the softer ones :P
