i asked the main arbitrator about the ruling and he said you can do it no problem, thunderbolts grants you a different team ability than avengers, so you can double up on mystic and cross gen, or arachnos.
Indeed? Everything I've read indicates that you can use Arachnos or CrossGen all day long but that making Thoki a double-mystic is redundant and buys you only one feedback damage per shot.
It was ruled this way with Jarvis as well. He had Avengers/Skrulls and it was ruled that TB to Skrull was a waste of time...best to use Danger Girl.

Yes, definitely down with that cheesy piece! I say the best solution would be to up their cheesy point cost to over 300 points, so they couldn't be played in 300 point games. Or better yet over 350 points, so if somebody wanted to feat them up, they wouldn't have space for almost any backup in 400 points! Oh, wait...:speechles
I suspect that there is going to be a change to ATAs that will no longer work off of a team symbol (like Thunderbolts), but will all instead require the appropriate keyword (like GotG).
Thunderbolts itself would be no better, but it would be a lot more limited in who the feat may be played on, and with the wording of the GotG feat, I would also wager that it would override all TAs that a character had.
Is anyone else sick of players Thunderbolting to Mystics especially when using Thor/Loki so you taje 2 damage everytime you attack them? I refuse to use this tactic due the high cheese factor but some people do it everytime. What are your thoughts? I wish they would errata this possibility.
You can't Thunderbolt Thor and Loki to Mystics, as they already have it.
Well, I guess you could, but the new one would override the original one.. and only one click of damage would be given.
But I know what you mean... As you can choose Cross Gen or the other TA that does the same thing (I'm drawing a blank)
When I won the tourney I played in with the Thor and Loki Duo, I didn't use Thunderbolts... I used Alpha Flight.
Unlike most players, I don't need to use Protected and Double-Mystics. I don't plan on getting hit.
And I didn't the whole game. I dominated, and only one Asgardian Warrior was damaged all tourney long..
But if you turn it off its off until the beginning of your next turn so the rest of my team can hit you without fear of retaliation.
This is true in the situation described...1 on 1 with MC, but it really is just canceled until the end of the current turn. (In the described situation, they just happen to be the same.)

Hmm...I don't know...that doesn't sound THAT dirty.
Like you're taking some serious damage but in that point build you should be dealing it back out and hopefully be able to take their team out.
Especially if you use Mystics yourself.
