I own both, and I have played both. What people need to realize about these 2 figures is they are used for 2 different things. In the Crisis restricted format all I saw in my venues was E2 superman feated up (before the 10% cap) and was unstoppable by any army. However, when you do that you restrict yourself to 1-2 actions a turn (free attack and normal action). E2 in this light is what you would call a swarm team killer. He can cripple one piece then fly off and cripple another. With his X-Ray vision, not even batman can stand up to the monster. KC Superman on the other hand is more of a giant killer. Swarm teams will mess him up in ways they cant E2. But think like this, you play a 400 point game. KC will get much more support, and with that charge flurry can essentially take out superman in 1 turn. Overall I think that KC is the much more powerful figure between the two solely on his damage potential. E2 can do just as much damage in a turn, but he wont be doing it to 1 figure. Also, for E2 to get that first turn strike, he will have to roll a Hypertime roll to even become adjacent. That right there could save supermans life.
and for those screaming that the meteor is a cheesey win tactic, to you i say too bad. the meteor was added to the game, and those that choose not to take advantage of the single best special object in the game are just missing out. nobody sits down at the table hoping to lose a game, so in that light it is fair to say that sombody will do as much as they can to win (this includes those that only play thematic teams, that restricts the type of team they play but it doesn't restrict things like objects or feats). If you know that somebody is running E2 superman, then you will pull out a meteor with or without a KC Superman (Vet Hyperion does it just as well). Superman is too good to be friendly to, you have to pull out all the stops and try and cripple him. I suppose you wont be playing a meteor when you run up against the likes of Starro, Galactus, Spectre, Phoenix, Anti Monitor, Foom... A long drawn out game that ends in loss is much more satisfying.

i have the HYPERTIME supes, and id have to say: for the cost, hes the best superman... id even pit him against icons VET, and heres why: he has the potential to do 12 clicks of damage against one fig... all he "needs" is a protected and a TKer to get him in the fight and keep him from taking a BIG hit.

I hate it when superman gets tied up with Plastic Man
Don't hate the player, hate the game. Or the figures. Or the dice. Or the map...

This is the only thing I disagree with.
The Meteor is good, but it's not the best. Shield Disruptor has the slight edge in that it can be used in multiple attacks and isn't restricted solely to figures with Super Strength.
On par with Meteor are, that I use often:
Laser Turret- A free attack every turn? Might help might not, but when you run a tentpole like E2 you can now get three attacks per turn.
Fuel Tank- This is possibly the best object to use against those pesky high DVs. It grants you Energy Explosion, but the splash damage automatically hits so long as the attack was successful. Hit the 15Dv figure with a 16? No worries, that KCGL has to take the splash damage.
WizKids GamePlay, "You can only play our game if you buy the new stuff. Those old figures are dirty and obsolete."

Its true, its really hard to compare them one on one, because E2 is so much more expensive. Generally, I lean towards KC being the better of the two figures, but it really depends on the point environment they are in. The larger the game, the more valuable of a piece E2 becomes, as no one really does as much damage, or lives as long, as he does, and the higher the game value, the less his 317 points becomes an issue.
However, at 400 points, for example, I give the edge to KC. E2 will have, in this scenario, Fortitude, Protected, and perhaps a TK or Prob support piece. With a TK piece, he can make an initial 18 space charge... but then its all on him, nothing else. That TK'er becomes a free 40 points for your opponent's harassment piece, and Superman has to hope he doesn't get stuck on a Mercury or something. Grant you, he can still take down most teams, but he has some issues. Typically he'll be with a Prob'er to get around double 1 rolls and failed break aways.
KC Supes, at 400, has some more options. He can have a TK'er, to make his charge a 13 point rush, which is comparable to E2's 10 spaces. He can also have Fortitude, Protected, a Prob'er and a perplexer/secondary attacker. Maybe even some outwit, if he thinks he's going up against some lame E2 without Fortitude (ie, dead).
In almost every game I've played with these two squaring off at 400, KC has come out the winner. Things to keep in mind: KC, generally more mobile, thanks to a TK boost that E2 probably can't afford to have. KC usually has a Psy Blaster backing him up. Also, E2 gets a free attack and a normal attack every turn, yeah, but they can't target the same fig. If E2 misses his attack somehow, or they make an SS roll, or he fails break away (assuming they live. he can't use items, generally), then he's only dealing out 10 damage every 2 turns. KC has a comparable damage output to E2, and that generally is what wins the game: damage output. Typically, two turns of KC wailing on E2 is enough to put him down, especially with his secondary blasting away from a distance.
But, as said, E2 is the king#### hoss figure. The higher the value of a game, the better he becomes. It really does just depend on your purpose. Typically I lean towards KC, as I've been able to get more use from him on teams. E2 has been a jaw-dropping novelty piece, though.

Blah, I just bought E2 Supes, as i'm a consummate collector. I figured I might as well buy both of them. Something tells me i'll be playing HT Supes though. He's just soo much more fun in my eyes. Knowing that everyone will be gunning for him, i'm thinking I can put down some figure that does a good 4 clix of damage and have everyone focus their attention on him, until they get KO'ed by some low end piece (If he it was unrestricted i'd love to use Winter Soldier, as i've used him to cripple everyone's force).
E2 Supes is more for taking down the 4+ figure teams, with the proper feats of course.
KC supes is better used to trump those tent pole teams, with proper feats as well.
After reading four pages of comments on this subject, this post hit the nail on the head far better than anyone.
Bottom line, if it's a high point game or lots of characters to go against, go with E2. If it's a lower point game or fewer characters to go against, use KC.
E2 has more "staying power" and I'm not talking about Cialis. However, KC has more damage potential. Both are amazing as I own both of them, but it depends on the situation for which one to use.
As far as comic accuracy goes, you all totally blew my mind. I have never read DC comics (I want to get into them) and I am soooo confused by the whole Infinite Earths thing or whatever it's called. All these different Supermans are baffling to me. I always thought there was just one or something like that. Guess I have to read more than just Marvel especially since Siege has gone right down the toilet lately.
