Are you allowed to Mastermind Energy Explosion splash damge onto someone else?

Not unless the Masterminding fig is the target of the attack. As I figure it, Mastermind requires the figure to be a target of an attack to actually work.

If a figure with Mastermind is one of the targets of an EE attack, then they can MM both the direct damage and the splash damage away, since they occur at the same time.

If the figure with Mastermind was not the targets, he cannot do anything but stand there and take the splash damage. They cannot MM away the splash damage by itself.
