If a player defeats every figure from his opponent, does he get the points if that opponent played a special object that had a point value, even thou the object was not destroyed?

No- just as if time ran out and the opponent had figures still remaining, points would not be scored.

So take an action and shoot it! or scoop it up with a SS'er and smash someone with it!

Yea this could be an issue. Teams with major turtle abilities get rid of the object to get those points and use their turtle skills to win thanks to the 5 point object. Unless I'm missing something that prevents this (and I might since I have not read the new rule book yet) this could be a major issue that could see a lot of these point cost objects not being used because it makes it easy for a turtle team to get the points the need to win.

That's no different than the current game play strategy of sniping a bystander or other easy to KO character and then turtling. At least they'll need to dedicate a 3 damage attack to destorying the object... you can KO a bystander with a single point of damage or even Incap.

QFT- the objects make it harder to do it than before. Honestly, i'll be more tempted to play small SS chars just to run up and grab the opponent's objects and charge/chuck em. 5 points for poking your opponent in the eye with his own toy? Satisfaction like that just cant be bought!
