I was thinking of playing the Alpha Flight feat/ata tonight in the 300 point Modern Age tourny this evening. Are these retired ATA Modern Age tourny legal?

For the record, Modern Age/Golden Age hasn't gone into effect yet. The BN starter won't be released until June. Which means this is a non-issue unless your judges chooses to take the new rules for a spin early... and if he does, he should clearly state that is what he is doing to avoid confusion.



Anyway, under the new formats ALL ATAs are legal in the Modern format. Now, that doesn't mean that the will all be exactly the same ATA... many of the older ones will likely be getting tweaked to have A) different point costs, B) different prerequistes (like keywords), or C) both of these. But for now, Alpha Fligh is still plain, ol' Alpha Flight which means it is retired and legal only in unrestricted formats.

yeah i think we are playing as if the new modern age rules are in play tonight. i'm always so pressured with 300 point teams. 400 are so much easier to play. that alpha flight ata/feat works out great with avengers teams to get that extra attack value. its like a cheap easy perplex.

Are ATAs part of the 10% feats cost rule? I'm guessing no, but would like to make sure.

For now, yes.

But under the BN rules, ATAs are not feats and the 10% rule only caps feats.

Our venue is using the BN rules now so I wanted to be sure.

I really hope ATAs go by keyword now so I won't have to keep facing broken thunderbolts teams. :-S

oh i agree completely about yearning for the day when broken thunderbolt teams are a thing of the past.

Adding perma-stealth or stealth-busting for 5 points. Yep...Pretty damn powerful.
