The antithesis to many of the Hammor of Thor beasts that are stampeding around the maps these days with all of their impervious, indomitability, high damage values & high AV/DVs; Namor reminds us all that comics first antihero can & will stomp n' romp your face in. A steal at 150 Pts., Namor comes equipped with all the ingredients needed for a nice heroclix blood bath: a sick SP (Flight w/Charge w/Flurry,) essential close combat powers (EW, Flurry, Super Strength,) great AV/DVs, consistent damage, a useful TA (Defenders) & oh yes, even aquatic regeneration! Feat Cards (Protected, Submerged, ICWO) and Special Objects (Opened Hydrant) only make things worse for the opposition while pairing him up with TK and SI Mr. Fantastic (+2 Perplex w/Illuminati keyword) is arguably a crime. 5 Stars all around and an amazing piece that if you haven't stopped reading this to purchase/trade yet ... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?
IMHO the best thing about this fig is the key words! hes able to be slapped on many teams, and paired with DC's underwater figs nicely... his best friend is tempest, or the fire hydrant with that water ability if Namor gets some knocks he can heal up on any map with either of those 2 factors in the game.
He went toe to toe with a 250 pt Wonder Woman and walked away the winner. The flurry/charge/super strength is just insane. I can't think of a better use of 150 points.
Namor can beat down anyone under, in, or even above his weight class. He has no particularly bad clicks, is very pushable (with Flurry no less), has great values, etc. What's not to like? Imperious Rex, indeed.
Simply put, one of the best pieces in the game. top ten at least. :)
Personally though, I dont think he should have flurry in all his clicks. Especially when he's down to his last ones. (I recall he can barely move at all when he's already spent to much time offshore and beaten up)
oh namor, i love your ways. everyday. i'd play you every week, but i'd get tired of winning (and by tired of winning, i mean i'd get tired of everyone else pitching about getting their butt handed to them again).
Not broken, but extremely good. For the points, the best close-combat figure in the game. He will destroy everything in his path when on an Illuminati team. Appropriately enough, he is a Unique figure. Without thinking, I put two of these guys on a team one night. After the duo launched their opening attack and demolished their first victim, my opponent looked at the map for a while, then up at me ad said "You can't do that!" Oooops! :)
With 4 damage and 11 attack, Charge and Flurry, Namor can do 10 damage in one turn with a heavy object. He's basically a one-shot one-kill fig. Devastating.
