I always wanted this fig to do something. Feats were the answer. You have two options: Haymaker this guy to death and then Lazarus Pit, or Stunning Blow with Knockdown. Either way, this guy's AV means you can say, "I hit KC Flash take 3 and a token", followed by rolling. He's not good. But he IS fun. Give him a shot!
Good sculpt, but all that rangless incap and enhancement on a fig that is almost certainly needs to be the centerpiece on any team due to costs gives me the wrong kind of nightmares.
Essential finesse piece to try out, even if just once, with rookie hyperion carrying him around and Nightmare mercenaried to Syndicate to lend out the 14AV. In a huge point cost game with plenty of other syndicate pieces and wildcards to benefit from the 14DV.
Ultimately, logisticallly it's not worth doing this as you can get a 13AV wildcard (IC exp Ultron) for just 139 points whereas pulling this off with Nightmare requires spending no less than 350 points). Still, it's fun!
Starting 14AV, 10 clicks of life with AV never dropping below 10... crazily overcosted and wildly comic inaccurate or not, this figure begs to be played once in a while.
AdamWarlock: That sounded like a great idea so I bought Nightmare AND old E Ultron. Problem is, the latest wording (in errata) of the Sinister, Defenders and Bat Enemy TAs distinguishes between using the TA and possessing the TA. A piece with Mercenary or a wild card piece can only use the TA, ie: borrow the AV or DV from a piece which actually has the relevant TA on its base. That makes Icons U Ra's al-Ghul great for lending his 11 AV, but means he can never borrow from Ultron or Nightmare. On a lighter note, Nightmare looks like a fabulous candidate for Suppressive Fire. How else are you going to use that Enhancement? :knockedou
Nightmare is one of those figures that gives new players who weren't around back in the day conniptions the one time in five years that he actually comes out. Bring him to casual free-for-alls with Stunning Blow and Telekinesis for old school wackiness unparalleled by any other figure.

Playability rating and dial rating totally dependant on putting Stunning Blow and Knockdown on him, which just makes him a crazy beast who can lock down pretty much any opposing heavy hitter even twice his cost.
I just found out at a state convention (just Maine, nothing big) one of the tournaments will have the rule that all Infinity Challenge/Hypertime figures receive a +2 to all stats. Guess who I'm bringing! Haha!

It's really the modest damage output on this guy that prevents him from holding up his end of that point cost. He can do nothing but plink away at anybody with a serious damage reducer, and because his defenses disappear rather quickly he tends to get erased the moment he strays past Invulnerability. Enhancement is much too modest for him... he's meant to engage a high-defense high-value target when you can back him up with an Outwitter. Hope they miss him, since he's not very likely to miss them.
