(Defense) Cerebro: Professor X can use Perplex. When Professor X uses Perplex, he can use it normally or choose a single keyword and affect every target friendly character 10 or fewer squares from Professor X that possesses that keyword (including himself, if he possesses the keyword) and to which Professor X has a clear line of fire.

Gladiator, Lilandra, and Black Tom stay for sure. The flexibility comes with Juggernaut and Charles, where I have two options for each. I've got three possible teams.
1. The purist team. No feats, just figures.
Gladiator- 205
Cain Marko- 155
Charles Xavier- 125
Lilandra- 60
Black Tom- 55
for 600 even.
This team relies on Gladiator and Juggernaut for some punch, while Lilandra is going to be consistently pushing (with and without SHIELD ta to Gladiator) to get to that Perplex, than she can double up the stat boosts. Black Tom is a backup shooter/Outwitter/Barrier guy, and Charles has Perplex for friendly stats and Rolling Shot with Incap or Psyblast to add some more punch to the team.
2. This team has a few changes.
Gladiator- 205 E Juggernaut- 140
Unstoppable- 5
Professor X- 131
Lilandra- 60
Black Tom- 55
596 points.
This version lowers Juggernaut's point cost, makes him uncarryable by Gladiator, and increases his defense. In fact, Professor X can help him go up to a 19, making Juggernaut effective Tie-up (to keep Gladiator alive longer) and a nose breaker. Lilandra and Black Tom keep their same purposes, and Prof. X also adds a second outwit. Unstoppable helps Juggernaut get where he's got to be, and lets him bust down walls and such. Juggs is shorter lived and doesn't have a middial charge to fall back on and has lower AV's, which could be mitigated some by the perplexes running around.
3. Another variation
Gladiator- 205
E Juggernaut- 140
Charles Xavier- 125
Contingency Plan- 12
Lilandra- 60
Black Tom- 55
597 Points.
This version of the team has the staples (Gladiator, Lilandra, and Black Tom) and the 140 point lower AV Juggernaut. Charles will nearly always have a contingency token every turn, and Lilandra will be pushing to click 3 with abandon. These, in addition to Charles' perplex, can add some serious range to Gladiator's already impressive striking range, boost Juggernauts' speed and attack to workable levels, really any stat boosts would be well-handled, especially if I waited a few turns before moving in (to get the most out of Cont. Plan and Lilandra) while Gladiator's huge striking reach keeps the opponent at bay (Hopefully).
The differences are slight, but still important. I'm stuck between the three possible teams, though #3 seems to be my first choice, followed by #1, then #2.
My main issues are lack of Prob control and the fact that my two heavy hitters drop like flies once hit.
Any suggestions on which team to play? Any other variation?
Thought: Perhaps putting Alias on Charles would work to fill in the point gap? It's thematic.
Played #1 today against a brutes team.
Avengers Hulk, E Drax, Molly Hayes, and Bizarro #1
Gladiator was rushed immediately, but ultimately held his own in close combat for the entire match. He ended the battle on click 5, which is his last useful click. Lilandra did the pee pee dance and started Perplexing.
We did battle at the castle (2007 con. map) and Charles used Rolling Shot into the moat. Then he rolling shot another one square deeper into the moat later in the game.
Played well, though I had lots of Perplex and an outwit, something my opponent sorely lacked.
