skrull-vell possibly... question, possibly... stardust, maybe, but not so much. you want to know what you're likely to see at gencon, check the modern age metagame thread.
Inertia (possibly multiples), the Bat/Supes TA Talia is a possibility, Kid Zoom, Question, Jason Blood, and others... faster to just look at th thread instead of me trying to rifle off everything I remember from it.
"A" is "A". And no matter what universe he's from, Luthor... is Luthor.

Thanks for this. Do you have a link for the thread? I'm having some trouble isolating it among the myriad of postings.
for the constructed portion: If your team can't beat Skrull-Vell, don't run it. As Ms. Marvel-Skrull-Double Inertia is THE cheapest competitive team you are going to come across, cheap + competitive means you're going to see A LOT of it in Top 8/Top 16.
From what I've heard, you'll be able to choose map for the constructed portion, so bring your Fountain Of Asgard map as it has the least amount of hindering for her to hide.
Sinestro Bats is another big contender, from experience, expect to see Sinestro Bats, Edward Nigma, Clark Kent LE, Blue Lantern, Tombstone, and maybe Opened Hydrant/Eleha'al Vine.
Being able to attack/move every turn with 12 range and stealth+smokecloud w/ a stealth-buster. It's a nasty toolbox, but it's a bit of a toughie to field (whoever said it was a finesse team, is freakin right). I'm not expecting it to win Worlds, but by the looks of how Sinestro Bats isn't showing up on ebay anymore; expect to see it as well. This team has a HUGE problem with Skrull-Vell.
I'm expecting some sort of variant of a Dr. Strange tank involving Crisis Batgirl w/ League Of Assassins TA (so the Doc can copy Batman ally and LoA TA at his disposal for 77 points) to win Worlds.
As for Stardust, while he's a good option as a big hitter to use, I'd not worry about him, a few points less and you can play Skrull-Vell.
I'd bank on seeing more Impossible Man teams than Stardust.
As for floor: Use these pieces:
Talia, Kid Zoom, Jason Blood w/ Etrigan, Bats+Cats, Holiday Killer.
Consider the rest of the set as garbage--if you haven't already
(Floor for world sucks so much, this set is terrible for floor).
I would say consider Black Flash but I think that even if a great build is found that uses Black Flash, it'll be a hard to field finesse team that maybe a couple people will know how to field well.
Yep Talia/Inertia is 152 and Bats+Cats at 142 plus 2 lanterns or Holiday Killer works and is the only viable piece to build a theme team around (Gotham City). Theme team may be a slight advantage, but still an advantage. LE Diana Prince (43 points) is also great.
I don't think 2 Talia's or a Talia + 2 Checkmate Knight White + 1 Lantern (for Spy Theme) will work. 2 Inertia + LE Diana Prince is 175 and could do ok with the right 125 partner points.

Have a closer look at the Blue Lantern once we get the new Player's Guide; I strongly suspect that the +2 range will only apply for the use of Barrier.
Edit: It has already been clarified...

* Blue Lantern’s effect only increases range values when using Barrier.
* Blue Lantern’s effect ends "...if they can already use Telekinesis."
