Lately I've had a lot of trouble deciding between these two themes. So, upcoming tournament is 600 points, Golden Age, Highlander rule.
Here's what I'm thinking for the teams:

Scientist:
FF Starter Reed Richards w/ BT 120pts
Ult Hulk 182 pts
Av Spider-Man 111pts
SI Dr. Octopus w/ Lunge/Maneuver 82pts
AA Doctor Destiny 99pts
Either Red or Violet Lantern 5pts

Soldier:
FF Starter The Thing 100pts
HoT Captain America 72pts
SI Punisher 83pts
Cr Thunderer of Qward 50pts
HoT Star-Lord 90pts
AA Hitman 61pts
HoT/FCBD War Machine 137pts
Guardians of the Galaxy for 5pts

Now, I realize the Soldier team is mostly without feats, and I like Madamoiselle Marie. Not sure if I should put her in in place of Punisher and add a feat or two..

I honestly have about 10 different combinations written down for the Scientist team, but I think this may be the best among them. A few of the others include Ted Sallis instead of the Hulk to fit in Morbius, or Graviton with SI Spidey. I have most scientists from recent sets.

Thoughts? Opinions?

the soldier team looks to be the better one. i've never had much luck with punisher and would rather field Mad Marie, but thats just me.

I like the soldier team too. I would remove punisher and add Nick Fury from sinister ( the one you can get from the iron man classic packs). His second clix is monstrous, plus it adds some room for feats. Also you can remove hitman and add AV Winter Soldier (IMO is a better clix). Both Winter Soldier and Nick Fury are very powerful and I would think that they would make your team much better.

For the Scientist team. I would try to add the Av living laser. Trust me, with the +2 from Mr. Fantastic, LL is deadly. I also like SI Ironman, he is very powerful, and he has outwit and perplex (plus if he chooses not to us outwit, he gets super senses). Dr. Mid-Nite is a great healer (support + Willpower) and has always performed well in my games. These three are always on my scientist team cause they always perform well (of course Mr. Fantastic's +2 perplex does not hurt)

I do have Nick Fury, but I never got Winter Soldier.
Likewise I never did get a SI Ironman, he's on my list of very few Scientists I don't have, him and a couple of the Flash pieces. Dr. Mid-Nite is on a few of my other team mixtures.

The Chief is the greatest Scientist ever. 'Nuff Said.

Oh, and Chief, don't have that one. lol
