Themed Teams: Shared Keywords amongst team members
• Generic Keyword: your force must include 1 character (Excluding Bystanders) for every 100pts of the team build to be a themed team
• Non Generic Keyword, your force must include 1 character (Excluding Bystanders) for every 150pts of the team build
Theme Teams Bonuses:
• Moving First: For every character on your Themed Team with the Keyword (Excluding Bystanders) you gain +1 for going first
• Probability Control Rolls: For every 2 characters (Excluding Bystanders) with the keyword on your Themed Team you gain +1 Team probability control rolls. Every character on your team can use them. A character cannot be chosen to use this benefit if it already has 2 action tokens, or if it has been given an action on its turn already. (This is a Free action, but requires an action token)
• Battlefield Conditions: If you have a Themed Team, you may ignore 1 battle field condition for your entire team.
Really only the PC Re-roll is used in RPSC, but we could add something about battlefield conditions, maybe not ignoring them, but the editor could give some minor bonus if you have a themed team. Like darkness, maybe your character can see 7 instead of 6 if the roll a D6 and get a 6 or something.
As for moving first again that's up to the editors!
Klaw was down. The Vibranium rounds SHIELD had been armed with, combined with the fast moving Heroes For Hire had overcome the overwhelming odds. Luke struggled to his feet, exhausted and tattered, smoking, and covered in robot wiring. He looked down in grim satisfaction and saw the crumpled form of Klaw buried beneath the huge support beam. He staggered to his feet and flashed a huge grin towards Fury.
“Let’s go check out your machine G-Man!” he yelled, motioning his comrades forward. "I still might get a chance to smash it!"
He wadded through the mud followed by Danny, Shang, and Paladin towards the machine. Fury was next to Luke with a small detachment of forces, marching through the muck in typical military formation. They approached the foreign alien looking equipment together, satisfied with their victory and passing out well earned congratulatory back slaps. Suddenly, a huge explosion rocked the swamps from over the small rise where the X-Men and Fantastic Four had been sent to attack Doom. A large mushroom cloud appeared over the small hill, dissipating slowly in the sky. Looks of concern filled the heroes faces.
“What the hell was that?” growled Luke, feeling the rage start to rise again inside him.
“Nothing good,” replied Fury motioning to the machine. “Look.”
The group of heroes looked around at each other, then back to the machine. It started to come alive. Maybe the Doombots they had cleared out had managed to send a signal, or maybe some kind of signal from the explosion over the hill. It didn’t matter what had started it, only that it was active and no one there knew a damn thing about how to stop it. Clicks and whirrs, followed by the sounds of electrical pulses started emanating from the machine. A small round ball of energy formed in the middle of the device, electricity arcing around it as if it were alive, and growing larger by the minute. It pulsed outward larger and larger, then would retreat a small bit, only to continue growing faster and faster.
“We need to move it now people!” shouted Fury already backing away from the threatening machine.
The heroes and SHIELD agents exchanged quick glances, then turned to follow Fury’s advice, but it was too late. With one final grinding sound followed by a sound like thunder and a final pulse, the ball of energy grew to 10 times it’s current size, expanding it’s outer boundaries and enveloping……everyone………….
The still standing X-men and Fantastic Four hurried over the rise at the noise and it appeared that all of the SHIELD Agents and Heroes for Hire had vanished. Then they heard a man coughing, and a tattered looking Fury crawled out from behind the outcropping of rocks he had just dived behind.
"Richards....." he muttered, "Get this gizmo back to your lab. I want to know what happened to my men pronto."
To be continued in X-Men: Doom's Day Special #1, SHIELD #1 and H4H #4. Stay tuned true believers.
