So the series is at an end, and more sneak content is available now than ever as the movie launches this Weekend. I loved the series, and am really looking forward to what looks like a stylistic cinematic triumph.
Anybody else really love Scott Pilgrim? Read the final Chapter? (Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour) on shelves now? I have! let's talk about it!
We already know the movie and the comics have different takes on the ending, so there are still surprises to come, but I loved the last chapter of the comic. There's some great art-as-filler splash pages that punch up the epic epicness of the epic.
The casting couldn't have been better on the movie I feel. I Hope Micheal Cera can stretch to reach Scott's Character, But Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers is just perfect. I love her.
I can't wait to see the movie, and there were a few places in the last chapter that I vocalized delight! who else loves Scott Pilgrim~!?
I love Toronto, so I'm seeing it for that. Hopefully the movie will get me to read the books. I long to see Honest Ed's properly portrayed in cinema.
They were filming all over the place last summer, and I saw the crew and set-ups with some regularity. I remember grumbling about some dude who was blocking my view of them filming in the Second Cup, only to later realize it what Brian Lee O'Malley.
Not like I was paying for it in the first place I just...found more time. HOWEVER I was very critical of it the first time I tried reading it and gave up. It frustrated me, visually mainly. Like to the point of being pissed off. However I got over this and tried it a SECOND Time.
Like I said got through Volume 3, I still hate Scott, the character, and Knives but other than that it seems like a solid cast of characters with a somewhat original storyline.
Is there a deeper meaning to it like "Clerks". No. But is that really that bad? No.
So I give it a B +. and I will see the movie and hopefully cerra won't #### this up.
