In honor of the battle between Volstagg and the U-Foes that kicked off Siege, I'm excited to get the U-Foes in the new set and put them up against the Warriors Three. What does anyone think the outcome is likely to be?
On the surface, I'd expect the Warriors Three to have a major advantage - some of the U-Foes are all but unable to crack their damage reduction, and with their trait the big damage dealing Asgardians practically never miss...
On the other hand, Vector can't be held down and will be tossing many an object to try to knock Fandrall off his Outwit / Hogun off his Charge, and the W3 are going to have a hard time taking out X-Ray before he deals some damage. Ironclad can beat on the Asgardians once they are weakened a little, and Vapor's Incap will be handy...
Anyhow, I'm interested to hear what team YOU'D want to be playing if you were going into this battle!
As much as I love the U-Foes (<-------See avatar) they don't stand a chance. No Outwit to get past the reducers of the 3. Short dials. Weak attack values (compared to the 18 Defenses of the 3) = a bad time for the U-Foes.
The 3 hands down, the U-Foes may never even do a click of Damage to them, barring a lucky Pulse Wave by X-Ray that is.

The U-Foes should do pretty well, probably not win it, but pretty well. Iron Clad and Vector are going to be your biggest assets here (TK and superstrength). If you are allowed cardboard armor piercing and camoflauge on Vapor.
I'd say Warriors Three take it as well. In addition to their strong defenses and damage reducers, they also have a 13 attack. And the U-Foes don't have much in the way of reducers, and what they do have, Fandral can counter. Plus, the Warriors have more chances to hit, between Fandral's Flurry and Hogun's Indomitable.
I think the main thing the U-Foes have over the Warriors is movement, as they have a lot of TK and Phasing, but that won't be enough.

Really? I don't see how? The Warriors 3 have Charge, Outwit and 13 Attacks VS the U-Foes 0 Move Attack, 9 Attacks (Vector and Iron Clad have a single 10, Vapor get's a 10 in the middle of her dial, that she'll probably get blown past) and Iron Clad is the only one that has a Damage value above 2.
Honestly, unless X-Ray get's a lucky Pulse Wave off (and his Pulse Wave is simply not Outwitted by Fandral) I'm not sure the U-Foes will do a single click of Damage to the 3.
Also, in a 300 point game, you can't give Vapor both Armor Piercing and Camouflage, though against the 3, with 0 Range, why would you give her Camouflage anyway? Sure, Volstagg can throw an object, but their strength is in close combat.

Math wronged, I would just go with the armor piercing. Thing is Fandral can't outwit everything so need to make him choose pulsewave or poison or TK. Though it might be better to put the armor piercing on Vector...TK the warriors 3 to wittle them down. Use the fact that they don't have any range against them. Honestly that is their weakness

Whoever has the AP would be the one to target with the Outwit. Vector has to get within 3 to use his SP, Outwit is 10 Range. Vapor would have to get adjacent to use her AP/Poison, so 1 hit from the Warriors, for 3 Damage, get's rid of her Poison. With his 9 Attack, X-Ray isn't much of a threat despite his Sharpshooter Pulse Wave, as he needs a minimum of a 9 to even hit any of the 3, and possibly a 10 if they are parked in hindering. A hit for 1 on X-ray, means the Warriors can now ignore him, as his EE will have 0 effect on them.
Don't get me wrong, I love the U-Foes, I just don't see any way for them to win this match up, short of outrageous good luck for them, or bad luck for the Warriors.

I was also thinking that between X-Ray's Pulse Wave, Vector's TK, Vapor's Incap and Ironclad's raw damage, the U-Foes might have a chance to: a) knock Fandral off click one; b) knock Hogun off charge; and c) knock Volstagg off SS. This would take the W3 off move-and-attack, any range possibility and any power countering. They're still awesome, but they would then need to be adjacent to do damage.
IF the U-Foes could do this without taking casualties, then between X-Ray ignoring most close damage, Vector tossing people away and Vapor can just break away, with some taxi options for Ironclad, the U-Foes might be able to combine forces to even take a single W3 member down before times runs out.
I can't see the U-Foes winning in a fight to the KO, but attacking smart early on and then focusing on one W3 member might be enough to get the points victory.

Admittedly, a big part of my strategy as described above rests on great luck for the U-Foes. There are tons of ways it could fail...gotta concede that the W3 probably have this one most of the time...

In theory, at least...
The U-Foes might get one of those things accomplished before they get based by the Warriors. But there is pretty much 0 chance they do all 3 before the Warriors are in their faces.
The U-foes don't have much better Range. Vector has 0, 8 if he TK's an object, the same as Volstagg is able to throw one. Vapor has a 4, but with 1 Damage, who cares? (9 Attack Incap isn't scarring too many people, and definitely not the Warriors). X_Ray has a 10....with 2 Damage, so if he wants to use his Pulse Wave, that's now a 5.....still with a 9 Attack. Iron Clad has to be TK'd next to a W3 to be able to get a shot off, unless he throws an object for 8...with his 10 Attack. Vector is pretty much support. 10 Attack? Great. Too bad it's for 2 Damage.
I'd honestly hoped the U-Foes would be on par with the FF. They were exposed to the same (and more) cosmic radiation as the FF. Oh well, at least they got made, so I'll play them, I just won't expect to win with them......ever

I'd (honestly) say 99 times out of 100, the Warriors Three take his match up.
