i dont understand how Venom gets the Sin Syndicate keyword but not the Spidey Villain TA. seems to me that ANY character with this keyword also ought to have the TA.
Score: 70%. Venom is so heavy on offense, I just get this feeling that I'm paying close to 90 points for not much staying power. I would happily give up an aggressive power for more defense, like replacing his Trait of Plasticity with a Trait of Stealth or Super Senses. Still, you can't argue with Damage values like these.

Add the Takedown feat to make Venom a very annoying threat. Plasticity all the way down the dial that can't be outwitted means every time your opponent misses in close combat they are going to get incapacitated. You can TK guys into adjacency then watch them squirm as they try to get away which will be very difficult with Web and Plasticity or if they miss in close combat and get incapacitated. Then you follow up with Smashing them in the face with a heavy object!
levit, I would say its comic accurate for him to lack the TA. He has teamed up before but he doesn't really play well with others when he does team up. (Thunderbolts Mac Gargan had to be restrained by nanobots to keep him in line.)
Actually if i recall correctly he was part of an incarnation of the sinister six, but he was a bad team player cause he took a bite out of sandman who later died because of it lol. Insto facto bad team worker. Other then that I like the figure.
I don't know how Venom's dial doesn't warrant a 5 star rating. Toughness and Steal Energy make him incredibly hard to KO. Attack and Damage values are simply off the charts for the point cost. The Plasticity trait is pure icing.
Talk about board control. Nobody will see that nasty TK coming. Move your opponent's figure up to 8 spaces, then lock them down with webbing. It's probably most useful in larger games where flying in swinging for 5 is doable by someone else, but I can imagine click 1 TKing someone exactly 6 spaces away on one turn, them being unable to move away, and turn 2 Venom pushes to charge in with the Heavy he better be holding. Solid figure, I love it!
Very pleased with how this character performed for me last night. Great opening click with solid damage. The smatterings of Stealth and Steal Energy will help him stay alive. That 4 range will also catch people off guard. And that Plasticity trait is just nasty -- charge in, and lock them down. The SP is also cool, but honestly I never had to use it. Very impressed with this moderately-priced brick.
Great Piece! Played him tonight and didn't even read up on the SP. WOW found myself using that TK SP constantly. MopedKid86 is right. It just allows you to pick people off take em out of the pack and charge with an object! Awesome. It takes team and he's no tentpole but if you have the patience and the right positioning he can be devastating.
This piece is truly nasty. Best and most accurate version of Venom so far. He's a close combat beast for the points, but people tend to forget his range - such a synergy with the SP: move him up into hindering, then push into stealth to web and lock someone into range and start beating him to a pulp. Maybe not the most efficient way to play him, but certainly shows his versatility.
This is a nasty Venom. He's got a lot of options and his toughness and steal energy at the end of the dial helps a lot. The stealth is nice and makes it worth pushing when on the first click. The TK ability is a cool ability that can help keep him safe.
