#018 Carnage
Symbiote Blade ends "...and is locked until the attack resolves."
My interpretation of the ruling: Since the locked value only applies to the attack, does that mean you can roll each time Carnage makes an attack using Flurry?
Just double checking. I also see Blades/Claws/Fangs got a similar update.
Yeah, they wanted to change it back similar to how it used to work so that Blades/Claws/Fangs determines the damage for each attack individually. And essentially they wanted Symbiote Blade to work like ranged Blades/Claws/Fangs, so they gave Symbiote Blade the same treatment for rewording the power.
I think I read it once or twice that there was also an issue with the way it was worded that it wasn't described when the "locked" value returned to the printed value, if at all. I don't remember the rest of what I'd heard but I think I actually even heard that your value was locked until the end of the match, unless the power was lost. Regardless, it's fixed now so no big deal.

Someone might have said that, but it would be incorrect. The rulebook states that locked values last until the end of the action if not otherwise specified.

Reason: added quote

my take is that it is locked till the end of your turn, so its the same number for both attacks on flurry
The section I previously quoted in the rulebook clearly states that locked values are for the duration of the ACTION unless otherwise specified, not the TURN. Also, under the new player's guide, Carnage's power was specifically clarified to say that it is locked until the ATTACK resolves. So nowhere at any point would it have worked in a manner that it was locked until the end of the turn.

That's correct.
The rulebook quote made it so that Symbiote Blade (and regular BCF) would be rolled once during a Flurry. The action is the close combat action, so by default, the roll would be applied until that close combat action resolves, which is after the second attack.
The new errata entries add in the "unless otherwise specified" to not have it work like that.
