Great interveiw, however do you have any with the new face heroclix planned? Are you breaking ground or collecting rubble? Don't get me wrong I just want to hear about new stuff.
I don't at the moment, and it appears the new incarnation of WizKids will be in New Jersey, which makes me highly suspicious because I think New Jersey doesn't actually exist and that thing across the Hudson river you see from Manhattan is actually just a mirror that Pennsylvania put there to make New Yorkers feel more smug.

That is amazing! I think the same about Canada! I don't think that paradise (but FROZE) country exist!

Question: Why do the seagulls fly upside down in new jersey?
Answer: Because they can't find anything worth crapping on.
Oh God, I remember those times. I'd cringe a little inside...
Thanks everyone for the very kind words. The interview was a lot of fun to do. I really meant what I said: part of what made (and will continue to make) this game absolutely unbelievably awesome is the community around it - you guys - and I consider myself lucky to be part of your (our) number.
I do want to clarify my comment about Mark in my pacifist reply: I realized it was just a snarky question but as a PR guy I have to field those from time to time and just take it in stride, so I tried to give a factual (I am a pacifist, it's true) and somewhat funny answer. But I do want to set the record straight: Mark is, despite coming across brisk online or whatever specific comms choices he made, a good person, a caring father and someone I would consider a friend. All joking aside, I feel that he does continue to take the blame for some decisions that he didn't make and was forced to clean up, or simply forced on him, and unfortunately I think the lack of communication and context around those decisions made things appear far worse.
Anyway, end soapbox. If anyone has any follow up questions to those in the interview, let me know!
What exactly is "Bangers & Mash"? Why do they call it Piccadilly Circus if it isn't a circus? Do you get US holidays off as well as UK holidays or just UK holidays?

Sausages and mashed potatoes.
Circus is Latin for 'circle,' and Picadilly used to be a roundabout.
Sadly no, but I get way more holiday time than I did in America.
Heh, as a former envoy for a small store here in Nashville, I can say that you were always a class act in the forums when even the envoys were squabbling like spoiled players over the latest rules debacle :D. Glad to see that you still have love for the Clix and the community after all this time, and glad to see that you're still a consummate professional. Good luck in the new position, and hope to hear more good stories in the future. Cheers!
Whenever someone asks me what I think the most dangerous animal is, i tell them it has to be a shark riding on an elephant, just eating and trampling everything in sight.
great interview theLe. as a former Heroclix Judge in Ohio I had the honor of meeting Brother Magneto while helping running heroclix tourneys at several conventions
I always considered him the face of wizkids and our inside man for heroclix, thou I felt bad for him when is took the brunt of the unfortunate errors.
I was greatly sadden when he was let go and the Envoy Appreciation nights were never the same with him gone thou the game did go on.
a very enjoyable interview from just an awesome person
"We're fans. We're passionate. We disagree about stupid little things. But we do it because we love the subject matter, and love our hobby."--Seth/Prophus--Lead Designer, HeroClix
Did the tuttle interview ever happen? I have searched both sites and can't seem to find it....
I did the interviews for Seth and Jason Mical.
I started an interview with Tuttle, but it was never finished because he became too busy with his work at Sony Entertainment. Here's a snippet of what I got out of him:
The Le: How did you get started in the gaming business?
Tuttle: I spent a long time working in Radio starting in the late 80's, and one of the things that you used to hear a lot from the Radio stars of the 50's and 60's is that they got their start by "sweeping the floors until they got their big break". That's sort of what happened to me with gaming. I started playing back in Jr. High with the Steve Jackson games and then discovered Dungeons and Dragons (which I purchased exactly one printing too late).
A buddy of mine and I used to play this miniatures combat game called Melee and we thought it was a blast. After I moved to Cleveland, I sort of lost touch with gaming for a while until I was introduced to Magic the Gathering (Alpha). That got me started on the Star Trek Customizable Card Game. I'm getting around to the sweeping the floor part, honest. Back then, the Internet consisted of America Online and I was doing rules questions on my own.
Decipher noticed, offered me a job to help with the creation of the Star Wars Collectible Card Game and that's how I got into hobby gaming as a pseudo-profession. Proof that passion does pay off! After several years of part time, then full time with Decipher, I got an offer to move across the country to WizKids. I spent a year in Sales and then moved over into Brand taking on the Clix products.
I ended up leaving WizKids because the family really didn't like Seattle (we really did dislike the weather there) and wanted to go someplace nicer. A friend of mine told me about the opening at Sony and it was apparently a good fit.
I haven't heard from him since October of 2009. Guess I'll need to ping him again and see if we can pick up where we left off....
