You know there just might be a ton of left over Alpha, Neca is just sitting on. It's a repackaging and nothing more. If it gets new players interested and keeps the new figures coming for years to come, no harm no foul.
Plus it's a way to get people who can't afford in the entirety of the purchasing system, ie. Bricks and such, to invest in just enough to play a game and enjoy it. Of course that's kinda like how I started with IC. Um, now I invest too much in a game that I'm obsessed with collecting.
Er... Win for Wk I guess.
If they were thinking about playability and not just getting the product out there they would have included TA's. This doesn't seem to be the case. This appears to be a mass liquidation of old repackaged Alpha.
Well good luck WK/Neca, I hope this plan works for you on some level, I have many more new clix I want made.

I doubt there is much/any Alpha sitting around. If there was, I would have been scheduling AA/Alpha sealed or BatB/Alpha sealed events.
Wizkids making quick, cheap products to draw in new fans and to line their pockets is good.
It makes them money, money they can then spend on newer, fancier Heroclix for me, and ensures they continue to do so.
These action packs clearly make Wizkids/Neca money, otherwise they wouldnt do it.
This is GOOD.
Would you rather they went out of business and we go nothing... again...?
If your not interested; don't buy it.
I could not agree more, /rep'ed.
I guess some folk are too short-sighted to see past what they want?

If this were the case (and it's probably not), it's a lot more than repackaging. The character cards need to be reprinted without Alpha rules, and the bases themselves would have to be scrapped to put the classics logo on the top and the new "click numbers" on the dial. There's no way they would have had enough of an overprint from two years ago to make a significant contribution to the mass marketing of a new set.
Plus, we know the other classics packs are made of stuff where a repackaging of old stock definitely wasn't possible (Fantastic Four, Black Widow, Nick Fury).
Yeah, no doubt, even if the sculpts are already made and set aside in a warehouse, just needing to be glued on, there is still a lot of work to do to make even these small Classics sets.
But, my hope is that they go further and further in the archives eventually, and reprint things like the Green Lantern Action Pack, or anything from the Legacy/Ultimates era.
I truly want them to be successful at all they do, so that it increases the amount of product available. I will buy a couple of so-so reprints, if it means the really good reprints are on the horizon.

I haven't found the Iron Man mega-pack around here.
I hope we can get the Batman mega-pack. I don't have that Arkham map.

I'll check around my venue and see if we have an extra Arkham Asylum make laying around. We still have a carp(fish) ton of the Great Arena makes from back during Mutations & Monsters. Luckily the D&D Players are starting to show an interest in it so who knows.
Update: Sorry, looks like we where all out of the Arkham Asylum maps glen_smith. Guess they where a bigger hit then I had thought.

I don't mind that they are reproducing older figures like this. If you look at the total numbers of figures that have come out over the years trying to find just the right figures to reproduce in this way is actually quite difficult when you both;
A: Figures that veterans of the game will be happy to have an extra of.
B: Figures that new players will enjoy using tell it is retired from tournament play.
To me that is going to be a difficult balance. I think the Alpha set did a good job of making figures like that. So for NECA/WK to reuse the figures with the cards re-written for Normal Heroclix instead of Alpha Clix makes a lot of sense on several levels.
