For those of us in the U.S. we know pretty much what we're in store for as far as meals go on Thursday and likely some derivative thereof on Friday. The question is, do you have any routine meal for Wednesday night -- Thanksgiving Eve?
As I tend to do all of the food prep the night before -- the last stage is setting the seasoned and sealed bird into the oven for a slow-roasting starting sometime after midnight -- the kitchen's dedicated to the following day's feast, so cooking another meal just doesn't work. So, the default here's tended to be something I picked up on the way home -- perhaps hoagies (or subs, or whatever you may call them in your particular backwater) or pizzas. Something that can be eaten casually, a little here or there as the evening unfolds.
It just occurred to me that some might have a pre-traditional meal traditional meal, too.
Normally we eat whatever leftovers we have to clear fridge space for... more leftovers. If there are none, we usually order out for pizza, subs or tacos. This year, however, my folks are having us over tonight (the night before) as my college-age brother is back in town for only 2 days. Leftovers will be picked over tomorrow as I am predicting that I will be extremely lazy...
I didn't go to Harvard or Yale but I can kick a man in the crotch as well as any other.
