F) Gamora will Symbiote her defense by +1

With Champion's U-Curve Attack arc, it would be good to know. As her Defense is now a 20 with me swinging with either a 10 or 9 (neither very good odds), I would like to know on these turns at least.

Champion is on his 9 AV, 18 Defense. Gamora is on her 17 DV(+2) for CR, no? I may have to let her swing on me so she doesn't have that extra (+1) to her DV. But I'm betting she won't miss as my Damage-Reducers are worthless here...

I'll let you use both modifiers on the same stat if you wish.

Good game, I suppose, for what it's worth.

I'm not going to lie, I kind of saw that game going quickly as well. For her point value, Gamora is a really nasty piece, especially when you're talking close combat only. Though the symbiote helped too, considering I would have missed both those attack rolls had I not had that +1 each time. About the only way it could have been worse for you is if I'd won initiative instead.

Personally, I have a sneaky suspicion that Wakanda really wanted me to win this one.

True, seeing as how Champion's two biggest assests-his Super Strength and his Damage Reducers both part of his cost-were negated by the Event Dial and Gamora's built in Exploit. Plus you covered up her Defenses by giving her Toughnes AND Super Senses. Short of you whiffing (and I don't see that here) this was all you. I just hate not being more of a challenge. It just seemed too easy for what it was. Maybe it I got to beat up the other three first but oh well. Anyway, good luck on your quest!

Well the Guardians were behind in the quest.....they needed an easy win.

Plus I also wanted to demonstrate how bad @$$ Gamora is with the Symbiote.

As a bonus Space Jawa, you can now choose to equip Gamora with the Symbiote for future missions as if it is a 20pt feat. You probably won't get use of it forever though.

OOoooo...I'd be lying if I said it won't be a little sad when it comes time for me to let go of it, but you can certainly bet I'll be sure to have fun with it while I can.

*Symbiote (Custom Feat)

Take it she did, dodging to the side of the Champion’s attack, grabbing his arm and solidifying her hold with the help of her symbiote. She maneuvered around behind him to form a hold with the larger blue alien’s arm behind his back, and accelerated his momentum to bring him crashing to the ground face first.

“You are indeed an excellent challenge, woman!” The Champion said from the ground. “But do not fool yourself! I will not be defeated!”

The power gem glowed as he used his free arm to right himself, and Gamora was forced to let go of her hold to avoid getting rolled on top of or letting her foe get a grip of his own. As soon as he was up, the Champion swung for his opponent again, but it was clear by now that with knowing what he was capable of, and with her focus concentrated fully on beating him, she was too fast for him to hit her. And without the ability to actually make contact, it didn’t matter how much power he could put behind his swings.

Gamora made the point stick by slipping in between the Champions arms. She jabbed into his gut with her elbow as she closed in, the goo from the symbiote following the motion to multiply the force of the hit. Before he could recover, her outer hand followed through in a symbiote-enlarged fist and struck with an uppercut that sent him off his feet.

Not one to let the momentum settle, the goo stuck as the impact hit, allowing Gamora to follow him to the height of his arc and finish with areal roundhouse that sent him crashing to the ground.

“Don’t. Get. Up.” She said as she landed and placed one foot on his wrist and the other on the back of his neck. The tone of her voice made it clear it wasn’t an order, but rather a threat.

“You think…” He started, determined not to let this woman make a fool of him, but stopped short when she pushed downwards into his neck with her heel. It was clear to him that she could – and would – keep this up for at least as long as he could. It pained him in the worst way to admit it, but to keep fighting would only delay the inevitable. Better to use his time to find new fights and live up to his name than to waste it in a loosing battle.

“Very well.” He said finally, his voice oozing with the venom of a looser reluctant to admit it. “You win.”

A wide, satisfied grin crossed the width of Gamora’s face as the crowd went wild.

”Did…GoOd…” The symbiote said inside of her head.
“No,” She replied. “we did wonderfully.”

“Now if you could get off of me?” The Champion added, not sure if Gamora simply forgotten he was there through the cheers of the crowd or if she simply wanted to further rub in his loss.

“Sorry.” She replied with a complete lack of sincerity, and stepped off the somewhat ‘former’ Champion. “Now if you don’t mind?”

The symbiote rescinded from her face as he held out one hand to receive her reward. She let her other arm cross her chest, and her stance was one of impatience.

“You do realize…” The Champion said as he came to his feet. “…that this fight was not one on equal terms? Your…goop…”
“Oh, shove it up your !” Gamora shouted him down in response. “You keep talking like my symbiote is some kind of unfair advantage, but you seem to keep conveniently forgetting that you are walking around with a gem that grants an immense increase to your own strength. Or is the gem the only flarkking reason you became the Champion in the first place?”

The Champion seemed to hold back a growl at the accusation that he was nothing without his gem.

“Oooh, did I hit a nerve?” Gamora taunted mockingly.
“Do not think that taking it by force is out of the question.” Mantis said calmly from further back. “You are beaten. You agreed to hand over the gem if you lost. Please do not go back on your word and make it necessary to ensure your cooperation by force.”

“There’s that too.” Said Gamora and pointed over her shoulder. “I already beat you by myself. Do you really want to see what happen if they’re backing me up?”

“Take it!” Champion said as he tossed the red rock to his former opponents feet. Quickly, a tendril reached out from Gamora’s foot and pulled the gem to her body, and it disappeared between the black suit before reemerging in the palm of her hand.

“Thank you.”

“I have no need for it anyway!” The Champion continued, switching from his poor-looser tone back to his previous over-the-top boastfulness. “I was getting too dependant upon it.”
“Sure you were.” Jazinda said under her breath.
“Now, free of its influence, the universe shall once again see the TRUE power of The Champion as he is! And it shall be as though nothing ever changed! Be rest assured, Gamora, one day we shall meet again, and when that time comes, I shall challenge you once again in fully unarmed combat, and then the galaxy shall see who the greater warrior truly is.”

“I wouldn’t count on a change of outcome.” Gamora replied.
