Woah, that is tough, Johnny is a demon guitarist here, but the singing is below par with Bob.
That damned penny whistle nearly cost Bob the race.

This isn't my kind of song, anyway, so I doubt that my vote would really be much more than a "lesser of two evils" thing.

Just not much Dylan love to be found in me.

I love both artists. Johnny Winter doesn't get enough respect for being one of the greatest American rock guitar players. He's definitely top 10, right on up there with Santana, Vaughan, Van Halen...

I'm gonna go against the grain here and choose Johnny W for the big W.

More of a guitar guy over quality. That doesn't sound right when said in my head, but it's pretty accurate. Very under-appreciated as 'Guru said. Not much Dylan love from me as well and if he didn't make the song, I wouldn't even compare him to Winter.

Bob Dylan. Winter's cover just totally misses the meaning and spirit of the song, IMO.

I'm in this crowded bar and I hear this incredible song blasting and the guitar is blowing me away in this place, if not in the wind, and the beer is good and the indoor scenery is fine and I can't hear sheet besides the sound of that blues-rockin' band coming out of the speakers, and have to ask my friend twice and he has to reply three times before I get that it's Johnny Winter.

"Oh MAN! Go, Johnny, Go!" I say, then hit the guy twice more for the name of the song.

"Highway..61...REVISITED!" I finally hear on the third try.

Hmmm! Apparently I forgot to vote on this one too.

When I drive home to Iowa on my rare visits, I have to drive Highway 61 through Missouri. I always make sure I'm listening to one of these two versions while I'm driving it.
I love both versions pretty evenly so I'll throw my vote for Johnny Winter to even up the count a bit.
