Oh, Groot. Sure, he's not very mobile, but his potential is still through the roof. You have to make sure you keep him in hindering terrain for that heal (or give him camoflauge if you're playing Golden). Do that, and with some good manuevering, he can take out a character 100 pts more than him. He single handedly defeated Green Scar and SI Herc in a 3 for all.
What a cool fig!! I mean, 19 Defense with Impervious?!?!?!?!? THAT IS SICK!!! (I am saving the comic accuracy to as 3 because I don't know much about the character.)
Played this guy on the obvious GotG themed, and he owned. He even had the bad luck of getting beaten straight through the Plant Growth clicks... no matter, his colossal form closed the game right after.
Groot with access to all the new Colossal goodness equals Death!
And apparently Groot is a lieing sack of fertilizer. He's young, smart, and definelty not a real ruler...The Old Trees said it to Rocket Raccon, who was looking for Groot in the Annihilators comic....
Played a 400 point GotG theme team last night. My opponent took out all but Groot fairly easy, and none of my opponent's characters had really any damage on them. As soon as Groot landed on his colossal form, all hell broke loose and he started one-shotting all of my opponent's figures. It was a game that was won by Groot single handedly. My opponent was a good sport, so he didn't run away when Groot became really powerful, but man... In the right situations, Groot is a monster well worth his points.
i love this guy! i use alot of monster teams & hes most certainly one of my favorites! i think his only fault is low mobility but for how awesome of a piece he is i don't care!
on a side note: i once pushed him onto the collosal click to successfully pick up mjolnir. ares thought he was safe being exactly 5 squares away but i had some perplex to help with that after he cleared.
Used him with the ATA and Mutations and Monsters Event Dial Unlimited Class Wrestling. He owned the ring. He was on his collossal clicks and got to use flurry+exploit due the the event dial. Oneshotted Hulkbuster. It was amazing.
Sorry man, but you can't use Abin Sur to carry him on his Colossal Clix. You can only carry him when he's a normal giant or a sprig. However, Abin being able to carry him as a giant is still awesome.

Again, according to the link below in my other posting, Groot can be carried by Abin Sur. Carrying involves PLACING the carried character and not MOVING it. That is why it works.
I think that will be subject to interpretation of th ejudge personnally. Based on the wording, you could interpret that as either a. groot cannot be moved on his own power, but can still be moved by alternative means or b. groot cannot be moved on his own power OR by any other means (to include using TK or being carried by someone who has taken an action which allow that piece to MOVE based on the action). I think they should have worded it "cannot be given any action allowing him to move" or "can only be moved by TK or a piece using the Move and attack or the Carry ability". As it's worded now, it could be subject to interpretation based on the judge.
